IHSH-439-PUR - 9oz Selvedge Flannel Check Western Shirt - Purple
-
@Giles i have a random question. I got both the purple western and the sax blue work shirt. The purple western fabric feels much “stiffer” and more substantial. Even the weight of the shirt is higher, presumably the snaps add some weight. They’re both similar but there is a that noted difference in the heft of each fabric side by side
Does fabric like this vary across color runs, like do certain bolts of fabric have variation? I’m assuming there is a weight tolerance at the mill. Just curious!

@Brandrea bahahhaha Thanks for the offer

@deathbydenim Yes, fabrics differ in weight depending upon the colour of the dye, what the atmospheric conditions in the mill on the day of the weave were, and which actual loom did the weaving.
Also, in a western, there is way more farbic used because of the yokes (which are double thickness) and the pocket flaps....

That makes perfect sense, thanks for sharing!

@Brandrea this is awesome!
this stuff just makes people feel great. hard to explain. no need to explain really. bravo etc etc -
@deathbydenim my purple western from a while back is noticeably stiffer than other colours. must be the colour!
-
@goosehd hahaha same, I save a few bad ones saved for fun.

This shirt is on its way from a friend. Didn't fit him right but measurements look good for me. We'll see! I'm turning into a purple monster
