The Mad Red Motherf**ker World Tour.
-
My sister finally got to meet the Mad Red.

-
I decided to detour via the village where I grew up on the way home.
Devilโs Dyke, part of an Iron Age settlement and reputed site of a little disagreement between Cassivellaunus, chief of the Catuvellauni and Julius Caesar in 54BC.

-
Once the border between Saxons and Danes under the Treaty of Alfred and Guthrum, and a prime location for feeding the ducks when I was a boy.

Todayโs ducks seem more interested in other prime locations.

The crinkle crankle community garden (and the eponymous wall).

Possibly the most famous resident in the churchyard, Apsley Cherry-Garrard the Antarctic explorer.

-
Nomansland common, reportedly the haunt of the notorious highwaywoman (who probably looked nothing like Margaret Lockwood) and now used for more civilised pursuits.

-
@goosehd thanks! Iโve had a lot of fun, which could easily mean nobody else has. Iโll take any evidence that hasnโt happened, deserved or otherwise

Still trying to work out which was the most historically important........
