Hey! I hope this is the right thread to ask, but I’m in need of help regarding the size of 888 UHR’s. I’m 35,5” waist and wear size 34 21 oz 634’s quite comfortably. After stretching they are still a bit tight on waist especially when sitting, but good fit overall. I’m looking for a bit looser in thigh and higher rise, hence the 888. My 634’s measure 44 cm or a bit over 17” half waist measured the IH way. Accounting for shrinkage I’m thinking 35 should be the right size, but was able to try XHS 888 in size 34 that fit very well accounting for future stretch and on the other hand UHR 888 in size 35 was overall too big. Sadly I was not able to try size 34 UHR’s.
So the question is, should UHR’s be bought slightly loose and if I got to around 34,5 waist overall, wuold they still stretch an inch if there’s not too much tension? If they stretch back to original measurements with wear, I’m afraid they’ll be too big.
Thanks in advance!

@kellohenkka These will shrink after their first wash... Of course they'll stretch a little, but they're literally RAW denim which is different from shrinking sanforised denim, I'd wait until IH post the size chart and go from there, as these are due to release soon and sizing might be different from the pair you tried on. You'd ideally want them to be a bit big, then shrink to fit...

My UHR shrank about a 1/2” in the waist on the initial soak/wash. They stretched about 1/2” over the original size after wear. I opted for a comfortable fit pre soak/wash and it was a bit snug post. After the waist stretched back out they were perfect.

@kellohenkka I would go up one size from your usual Iron Heart jean size in the UHR 888. It's always easier to get them to shrink a little more if they're still too loose then being too tight. You can always give them a hot wash if you need to shrink them a little more. My 888 UHR were still a little loose once I washed them in cold water. I ran them through the washer again on hot water and they came out perfectly
I own multiple pair of unsanforized denim jeans and have always stuck with the size up one rule and it hasn't let me down yet. The 888 UHR shrink up a lot with a hot wash. -
@kellohenkka Please email the IHUK shop: shop@ironheart.co.uk for sizing advice regarding this denim. They will be able to guide you through your questions.
