IHV-52-OLV - 12oz Duck Canvas Hunting Vest - Olive

Spring/Summer ’26 introduces a new vest cut to the lineup — a unique take on the “half-moon” hunting vests from the 1940s and ’50s. Made from a hardwearing 12oz Japanese duck canvas, this design is a little more stripped back than our other work vests, yet still highly practical — featuring a three-button placket with oversized buttons, waist cinches to adjust fit, and deep half-moon pockets. The yarns of this fabric are direct-dyed, meaning that as the vest ages, it will gradually fade and develop a vintage character — just not as quickly, and with less contrast, than our rope-dyed denim and sulphur-dyed fabrics.

Do any seasoned vest wearers have thoughts on interpreting the P2P measurements? This could well be my first vest so I can’t compare with a similar item. It looks like the P2P line is lower on the body than on a shirt, giving a smaller measurement, but if I’m going to wear it over a shirt maybe I need to allow for that. So should I be looking at a P2P roughly the same as or slightly under what I’d look for on a work shirt?

I’ve looked for similar questions on other vest threads, but I couldn’t find quite what I was looking for.

@ARNC I have numerous IH vests that I wear regularly, and I find the best fit for me is a P2P approximately 1-1.5” smaller than my IH shirts fit best; can go smaller since no movement restrictions of shoulders and sleeves.

Agree with John. 1" p2p minimum smaller than Western/work shirts for me.
