@Mizmazzle those are looking ace post water and hem! Curious who this guy/shop is as well so I can send some friends there too. Congrats and enjoy! Hope you love XHSib.
-
@Mizmazzle awesome man, they already have a backstory before the first wear. They look great and hopefully you’ve found a tailor for life.

@Mizmazzle Looking great man, and what a backstory

Looking forward to seeing the evo in the coming weeks / months as I commit to mine also.

@Mizmazzle just now catching the story and seeing the pics. Hell of a start to the journey with these awesome jeans man!
-
@Mizmazzle that's so cool, what a find and so close!! And fit is

My pair was under the tree yesterday morning. Dig the heck out of 'em. Really fun to wear.
Managed to split a finger open while wrestling with the bottom two buttons over the course of about 10 minutes. Thankfully, the ib colour is sufficiently dark to hide the crimson staining of any buttoning misadventures. Top two were way easier, for whatever reason. All part of the fun, ay.
Waist has already stretched about a half-inch.
Only took a few hours to learn that wire pocket clips will not withstand the creasing of these jeans.
Iron Heart XHS - 1
Spyderco Dragonfly - 0
My EDC while wearing these has been modified accordingly

I've been wanting to make the jump to a pair of XHS's and wear the para 3 lightweight every day. Good to know about the wire clip. When I was running a knife store in SF I would get the occasional bent out clip like this for repair. I always sent it into Spyderco for a sharpening/spa day and they usually fix it or replace it. They were always really cool about it.

@b34ns Oh, time out; it wasn't We Be Knives was it?! That store is so. flippin'. cool. Potentially a very dangerous place to go (for the wallet) when a little bit tipsy on Pier 39

Thankfully, the wire clip bent back into approximate shape without much difficulty. I have lots of experience reshaping k-wampus clips
My OG Tasman Salt is holding up much better in the pocket so far. -

@nurunuru I live those guys! You're absolutely right about going there tipsy or even sober!
I used to run the Town Cutler shop that my friend and former chef co-worker at Quince started back in 2011. It's started out selling pieces from Aaron Wilburn and Shosui Takeda as well as your everyday culinary and outdoor heritage knives. He then moved into manufacturing his own line. When the pandemic hit he closed the SF and Chicago stores and decided to focus only on manufacturing his line of knives and tools. I came along for the ride and continued working with him for a couple more years. Being part of San Francisco's very small but very old cutler culture will forever be a special part of my life.
Love those 634's btw!
