Hello! Im new here but would like advice on UHF please as im a bit confused.

Looking at the specs for the XXL size on Self Edge it looks like 18.5inches across the shoulder as per SE specs. For me in a business shirt or thin chambray shirt, 18.5 inches is fine.
I know they are not measuring the IH way, but i checked the shoulder of my CPO OD and also a IH denim jacket from them and across the shoulder SE have been correct. So the question would be when it comes to the UHF and how it sits and how thick it is, is 18.5 ok? Or do people generally size up further?
Similar to other comments above here, my problem is the next size up is XXXL, which apparently from SE would be 19.75inches shoulder (which is fine) but then the chest is a super 24.5inch wide with long sleeves at 27.25....so just wanted some friendly advice please....thanks guys!

@cyclops I'd say you're probably fine to stick to a XXL, while it may be a little thicker than your CPO and jacket its unlikely to be so significantly thicker as to need to you to consider a size up

@cyclops also, not offense to SE, but I would go with the measurement on the iron hear UK site over the SE measurements. I've bought plenty from SE and it is a great place to shop, but I find their measurements are not always the most accurate.

This came in a day from Franklin and Poe. Fabric and heft is amazing! I was deciding between L and XL, went with XL. What do y’all think?

@samuellschulman I think you don’t have to worry about it shrinking when you wash it,as you definitely have some wiggle room. I,personally,wouldn’t want it any tighter.

Well shirt just arrived and its another beauty. Happy with the fit. Usually im somewhere between M and L in Ih (this is large).

@ugogreevy I know it's different with every item, and even every production run... but I tend to go for the larger size when I have the choice with IH, this looks great on you. I got a large too.

I find this one is running slightly smaller than my other UHFs, glad I sized up

I sized up to a XL (I have the Watermelon in L).

I tried the L in brown, but it was way too tight around the chest and too short.

The XL feels a little roomy , but it should fit better once it’s been washed right
