Finally had to order some new chinos. My two pair of deck pants were great but they don’t fit as I’ve regained my natural sizing. Trying the 14oz slub deck pants in a 34. The 32 originals will need to hit the sales thread once i verify the new sizing for me.

@iammortalcombat I love my slub deck pants. I think you will be blown away by the fabric and construction. My only criticism is the front pockets are a tad shallow. enjoy and post pics when you get them.

Only problem I have with the slub deck pants is that I have to double or triple cuff the hem and the leg is super long. Might have it shortened at some point or not.
I mainly just wear them in the winter. I tend to grab my workers chino more often where I am one size bigger (38) than the deck pants (36).

@iammortalcombat love my slub decks too. Though I don’t wear them as much as I should. Only because im obsessed with fading my 822s. But that fabric is so nice. Incredible drape.

I wanted to circle back to this as I have some information that may be helpful for others interested in Freenote's rayon Hawaiian shirts. I normally wear small and I sized up to medium for their rayon skeletons Hawaiian shirt. I hand-washed it in cold water and it shrank a whole size! Now it fits perfectly!

So if anyone is interested in their rayon shirts but don't want to dry-clean, this might help you nail down the size.

I’ve had my RJ2 for three years now. I absolutely love this jacket and it might be my favorite piece of all time. It’s nicely broken in at this point and starting to get some nice evo (though it’s a slow fader especially with the weather needing to be rather cold to wear this brute of a jacket)

We went hiking yesterday as we got our first snow and it was nice and cold. I love winter hiking in this jacket.
I wanted to get some good evo shots as I think it’s really starting to show some progress.
pardon the overly model like photos. I know I bitch about those on the forum a lot

@ZackB thanks dude. I love how soft and easy it is to wear now. Started out pretty rigid. But I guess that’s to be said for all this heavy weight shit we love!

@jordanscollected we both really wish this thing had a two way zipper. It’s probably the only flaw in the design. But it’s broken in so much now that it’s not really the issue it was when the jacket was new. I drove wearing the jacket an hour to the trail head and it didn’t do that “ride up over the ears” thing we talked about at all. Just took a while to get to this point. In your case, working the farm in this thing would break it in way faster than my city slicker lifestyle for sure.

How do you find the RJ-2 compares to an IH N1? I am considering the 20 oz olive RJ-2.

@hjl360 I’ve never owned the IH N1…I did try one on once. A couple things I recall taking note of were:

                              1. The shearling on the RJ2 is thicker, softer, and warmer
                              2. The pockets on the RJ2 are the best thing I’ve ever stuck my hand in. Lined with satin on one side and shearling on the other. The N1 didn’t have that alpaca lining in the pockets I don’t recall. Though someone might be able to confirm that.
                              3. The RJ2 doesn’t have a 2 way zipper. Which is a nice feature on a jacket this substantial. Though now that mine is broken in a lot more, I don’t wish for that as much as when new.
                              4. The collar doesn’t have a cinch closure on the RJ2 like the N1 does. That is very nice to have in super cold and windy conditions. (Though I’m making a little fix it for that issue on my RJ2 that will remedy that problem. I’ll post it when I’m done.)

I agree that with these jackets if it is really windy you might benefit from a throat cinch/latch.
I have a mariner heavy and it does have one but it still leaves a tiny gap just above the zip so it even with it isn't windproof for ones neck.
Haven't tried on the N1 either so I wonder how well the latch/cinch seals the neck area.

Simple hack however is to just use some sort of merino buff or snood and voila. But I only need it if it's really windy anyway.
