IHSH-189-IND - 21oz Selvedge Denim CPO Work Shirt - "The UnTucked" - Indigo

I wonder if perhaps the coarseness of the 21 oz cpo might wear down and degrade the softer chambray lining of the parka over time? If this is the case, is that worth the damage to the lining of the parka? Perhaps another more rugged denim layer would best be used to create the rubbing you’re looking for, for fantastic fading friction…

If my lefty Type 3 was large enough for layering this would sure do the trick. Stiff and sandpaper-like as it is

@Oaktavia is in a different league than me, eating, drinking and sleeping the blue wonder
I’d love to see your project come into fruit.Oh, please! Have you seen your fades?! Those 805s you have are the golden standard for bib fades in my mind.
I was shocked at how little fading the IH-555s21 got after 250 something days.
This may be my answer then. If you went 250 days with 21oz 555s under 21oz 805s then the test run data as already been collected. Since you saw a difference in the levels of fading from inner to outer layer, then the answer is clear.
My understanding is that the jeans need sun, air and water to fade properl. All good fun

This helps me with my answer as well. So, what I will do is hault wearing the 21oz parka indoors and wear it when most folks would deem practical, what it was created for. Outdoor usage to protect from the cold. That way, it'll still be a fade project of its own and I will not hinder the fading process of the 21oz CPO.
This is why I posted this query here as I knew I would get the answers I needed. Thanks man!

This is something I hadn't thought of and further solidifies my newfound conclusion to wear them together less.

@Tobi yup! I’ve been layering my lefty over my IHJ-86…
See, I did this with my Slubby Type 2 and IHSH-409 and it worked out well. Seems it would be better suited for two more rugged denim fabrics with no lining.

@Oaktavia All this overthinking is definitely part of the fun. And the 189-IND is looking great.
@denim-dawg That’s interesting, I would have expected some serious fading after 250 days. (And thank you for sticking it out that long in the name of denim science).
@Mizmazzle I had the same thought regarding the chambray lining.
-
@Oaktavia Solid plan! Look forward to seeing progress.
Has anyone said when this is potentially dropping?
-
@natefreezy it was forecast for 2027 at some point.
-
@Oaktavia excellent work as always! Love the different hues that are coming through!
-
@Oaktavia Looking great!
