Y'2 Leathers….

That couch pic is a beauty!
-
@northsouthdenimguy I’ve been eyeing the camel oiled steerhide one for a bit. I would love if they released the western shirt in their Kakishibu leather.
-
@caithangkhanh Looks amazing

I'd love to see some of you fellas with the 1mm Vintage HH Chore Shirt post some recent pics!!
@WhiskeySandwich @Daniel-San -

-
@WhiskeySandwich hell yeah man. Looking forward to it!

Do any of you guys with westerns find that the back of the collar at the edge curls up? My Henry has never done this but my Tom does, it’s really noticeable when it’s on a hanger, the edge is almost 90 degrees compared to the rest of the collar.
-
Mine curls a little but not too bad.

-
Oh, the back, no the back is not curling.

Taming the beast

-
Not worried about it but any ideas on taking care of these “oil” spots. I know they will blend over time but curious if there is any trick to minimize now.
At least they are located on the back.

@northsouthdenimguy @indigostiff has a guy/shop that he uses and might be able to give you some advice.
-
@northsouthdenimguy you can put some cornstarch or baking soda on it to absorb the oil. I’ve used this method before with good results. It’s a no risk, first approach.
-
As a paste or dry, assuming overnight or longer
-
@northsouthdenimguy apply it dry. Yeah over night is good. I reapplied fresh corn starch every 6-8 hours over the course of a day or two.
-
....have personally used the cornstarch/baking soda method on an IH-suede collar oil before and it worked magic.
-
no curl on my collar, but assume you can correct this w/ a bit of water and making sure that it lays properly when on a hanger, I've found that the arm creases reset a bit whenever I wear in the rain - this one gets early fall over a t-shirt AND under a coat wear as the season gets colder, unfortunately I only sized to a 42 (same as my steer oil ones), but the stiffness of this leather makes it so I need to wear the leather a bit to warm it up before the first two buttons stop popping open - still a great piece though and first foray into the eco-horse. Have a Y2 piece from Lua arriving in Dec/Jan that should be a monster to break in.
