after some wait I got my first pair of Lost Boy boots ( former Kings Boots) yesterday 🥳
maybe not everyone’s taste but I absolutely love them. Very unique and the craftsmanship is absolutely amazing and the best I’ve seen so far , and I’ve seen a lot
here a few first impressions

@SKT Is this the distressed roughout?
-
Those look great!
That black piece of leather in the arch threw me off at first I thought it was a super high arch.That’s the same Vibram sole I’m looking to do on my next pair of Unsung engineers/ropers. Still debating what I’m going have him build, but I have plenty of time to figure that out.

@northsouthdenimguy
the leather arch support is awesome and not easy to make . But as mentioned the finish and quality is insane. -
These bad boys just landed. Wesco x Ship John Derroll Boots. Was thinking of putting em under the tree for Christmas, however, don’t think I can wait.

-
@Daniel-San those are killer boots! And @Denimhead-0 i have always loved the look of those Derrolls! Santa can always come early for boots
-
@SKT Thanks!
Those White’s look awesome
-
@Denimhead-0 my favorite boot I own! They are great!🤎
-
Red Wing 8203, think they were a Europe exclusive.

-
@Stringthing75 Those are sick! What’s the story with the sole? Looks like the same material as the wedge but with some lugs?
-
@Bobca
Yeah the story goes that they were utilising remaining material leftover from previous styles, made something like 403 pairs and weren’t going to be getting any more outsoles so I believe that’s all they could make.
Sourced matching hardware and there you have it. Hence overall numbers limited to the availability of the Vibram TC-1 I believe. Limited it to European stores.
I live in Scotland, so happened to be down in London the week after they went on sale and nipped into the Red Wing store and was able to try them on and got the guys to send them to Scotland for me.
Love them. -
@SKT Ah man thanks so much for posting, that's the exact comparison I've been wanting to see. Ready to pull the trigger on some cruisers in White's next sale event and wasn't sure between brown roughout and distressed roughout.
You have awesome taste in boots! I intend for a pair of C350-CS to be my 2nd pair somewhere down the road.
-
@Stringthing75 What a score! Congrats.
-
@SKT these are goegeous, my cuppa tea

Finally got my White's Max Schaaf Engineers after a 6 month wait. Scooped this from the summer sale and very pleased with these shitkickers.
-
@jiminstitches thanks! They’ve been great boots and compliment each other well.

I've been busy! I've acquired a few pairs, and there are a few I haven't yet posted.
My new favorite Grailed score is these Brooklyn x Wesco Custom Hendrik Charcoal Roughout boots. Timing lined up with a deep dive on boot fit tips, lasts, and a full send into Grailed. As my IH x Wesco Guildsman boots have been a favorite and fit well, I took a flyer on these. They're a 9.5 D and have only seen a bit of use. They'll take some breaking in as a 9.5 E fits me well.

I had a pair of Chippewa loggers for years that were going to cost most of the way to a new pair of handmade boots. So those went in the bin, and I opted for a pair of hand-made-in-Mexico 8-inch bison loggers from Drew's Boots. Bonus here is their last features a wider toe box and more accommodation in the instep - both things I struggle with. Not only do they fit well out of the box, but they also smell amazing. The shrunken bison is thiccc and will take a beating. These are intended for work, and while they won't be making me money, they will be working the local single track of my favorite motorcycle riding areas.

I'm a bit of a slut for Tecovas, mainly because they offer an EE width and their boots fit me well. These full-quill ostrich boots were my first from the brand. I get comments nearly every time I wear them.

These Fryes have been with me for 14 or 15 years and predate several changes of the brand's ownership, back when they were well-made. I think these were hand-made? Maybe in Mexico, as well? In any case, a reheel and a thin half-sole were added for traction. They're a bit long as I sized them to fit my instep, and they were acquired long before I was aware of all the great, hand-built brands we know and love today. I've often thought of selling, but given the recent brand reputation, I don't know that they're worth anything.
