It depends…

@Germinal said in IHM-48-KHA - 12oz Whipcord Lightweight N1 Deck Jacket - Khaki: Just a clarification. For washing it says gentle 40 degrees … but the lining is in ventile … I thought this was dry cleaning only ? Ventile and washing machine doesn’t work I think. Thank you. Yes it does. Ventile is just cotton, it will not screw it up, but over time may reduce its waterproofness. Ventile was developed to allow pilots who had to bail into the north Atlantic, to last a little longer. I don't suppose the convoy ships had a dry cleaning service on offer...

If I understand correctly, this pertains to the UK originated, currently Swiss/Austrian ( Stotz & Co. AG)made Ventile version. Various treatments are applied to Ventile it depends on the manufacturer. The Japanese versions of ventile may be different but it’s harder to research.

I just saw the email for this release and was able to track one down on Rivet & Hide (my favorite IH retailer) in size Large! At first, the sleeves appear a tad short but everything else is spot on with my Iron Heart A1 from last fall so I think I am good to go...very excited!
-
Up until a couple of years ago, most Royal Navy ships had a “Chinese laundry” I can’t remember serving on one that had a dry cleaning service… and our “ boats” didn’t have a laundry as such I believe the laundry service is now Nepalese… still no dry cleaning 🫡

I feel sad for my other jackets this winter. Damn this jacket is good. You guys killed it

-
@northsouthdenimguy I see you popped the collar. Does it sit flat well, couldn't tell on some of the other photos.
-
Yes, it sits pretty flat. I don’t know…I just like popping the collar, drives my wife crazy maybe that’s why I like it???
-
@northsouthdenimguy had to do it
-
@northsouthdenimguy The jacket fits you perfectly! If you wouldn't mind sharing, what size did you end up buying and what is your height/build? From the pictures I am seeing the "shorter sleeves" indicated on the sizing charts does not seem to be the case in person. I wear M/L in my regular IH N1 jackets but went with the Large in this one because the overall length and sleeve length looked like they came up a bit short on the charts.

Hey there, I’m 5’ 11.5”(182 cm?) I will take every half inch I can… 220 pounds or about 100kg. This is a 3XL. In terms of shirts I seem to be taking more SP-larges/4 XL’s as of late in the western cuts. Anything less than 25 PTP inches is not going to fit. Edit: after buying I thought I might be able to do a 2XL but at 25.4 it would be super fitted at least in the chest and no more than a T-shirt underneath.
-
@northsouthdenimguy I can’t wait to get mine any day now from UPS and actually get to wear it especially since the temp has dipped down into the 35 degree mark and only get colder from now on. Size looking like a perfect fit on you!!
-
Jealous of everyone getting this one!
-
I really hope I got the size right on this one. I went with my typical IH size, which is a large in UHF´s and other shirts and t-shirts. There won´t be a chance to exchange it for another size, I fear
-
Mine arrived. I went for my normal UHF size. 1st impressions: - Sleeves are fine
- Seems less boxy than I expected - length is good
- The collar does lie flat. Overanalyzing - I think its a somewhat odd shape now I own it.
- Love the pockets
 - Buttons smaller than the regular N1.
