Could anyone break down the sizing of this jacket in the current version for me? I hope this doesn't sound too lazy, but I found the sizing of this jacket to be really difficult.

              You're it.

@RobeOfTheMagi In what regard is the question? It would help us to help you if we knew what you were looking for…

How to size? How much does it shrink?

Sizing comes down to personal preferences…do you like to wear your clothing larger to allow for layering? How are you going to wear it? Over a t-shirt?

As you can see your question can lend itself to a series of questions.

Right, I've been rather vague. I know the jacket runs huge and there is some more or less serious shrinkage involved.

For reference, I own a 2526j in size 42 and I used to own the overdyed version of the last run of this jacket in size 40, which was a tiny bit snug around the chest. My best fitting shirt is the IHSH-33t in size 40.

If've just tried on the IHSH-427-IND, which fits me perfectly in size 40 with only a thin layer underneath.

I'd like to wear this jacket with a shirt or a thin sweatshirt. I'm 180cm and 80kgs. If the short and boxy 2526j fits me well, does that mean I'm not the right body type for this jacket?

                  You're it.

@RobeOfTheMagi You have something to work with as you have the 2526J to work from. Please measure your jacket exactly like IHUK measures their jackets and record the measurements.

Pick the areas of the jacket that work well for you like chest, shoulders, etc. and decide if that is too big or small.

Once you have an idea of how your 2526J fits and those measurements to compare to…email the shop: shop@ironheart.co.uk and ask for help.

Let them know what works for you with your current jacket and what you’re looking for in the 526L. They will be able to work with you and those measurements to figure out what size to choose taking into consideration shrinking and stretching with wear and usage.

I know people like to add their height and weight, but in general terms, it’s not always useful. There are three main body types, Ectomorph, Mesomorph, and Endomorph and we all cary body weight differently:

What we need are measurements to work off of and only you can provide the basic information to start from.

Also, bit of a brainstorming session:

I like to look at other members pics to see how they wear items. Then I say too big, too small, etc…look through the thread and see if anyone has a fit that you like and decide if that is how you want to wear your jacket.

It may be helpful to know the exact look you’re going for.

@RobeOfTheMagi here's some raw data I threw in a note when I picked up a 3X from this batch, hopefully it helps at least gauge somewhat the shrinkage you could achieve. I also compared this end result to the 526lod from this batch and it was a similar result given the agitation of the OD process. Pretty sure I could dial the jacket in a little more fit wise but it's been fun just wearing the hell out of it recently. Definitely a staple jacket if you're on the fence.
