@Jett129 the perfect balance of bittersweet, you should try a boulevardier some time which is quite similar but uses bourbon rather than gin as the base spirit- more Manhattan esque.
-
@SourPower @Jett129 or use mezcal instead of gin. I may have mentioned this at some point already

-
@Tago-Mago love a Negroni Bianco. Had a bartender in Osaka make me a fantastic Paloma/Negroni riff with grapefruit, Lillet, Suze, pechuga, and mezcal!

-
@Jett129 I’m fairly new to Negronis too and I love em, but after trying many variations I definitely prefer the OG with gin. I’ll stick to varying the vermouth and gin. I love mezcal but my tastebuds don’t like that combo.
-
@Tago-Mago What are your ideal percentages 33/33/33 or a variation? I'm finding I like a little less Vermouth and a bit more Gin/Bitters.
-
@Mizmazzle I love Whistle Pig. Is that a special store pick,as the proof is a little bit higher. I had met one of the original owners/founders at Whiskeyfest when it first came out,and it was their hope that it would do for rye what Makers did for bourbon. Had to look this up but I thought there was some connection to Makers, and it was that Dave Pickerell who was the Master Distiller at Makers advised them after he had left Makers.

I like maple rather than simple syrup. Bada bing cherry. With Larceny today.

-
@scooter nice I just picked up a bottle I was on a list for. Took a long time, so I hope it is a good barrel. Also have a small batch I’ve been saving. Might have to crack em both for a comparison.

A little dessert before the game

@WhiskeySandwich You definitely should get some of the Van Winkle barrel aged maple syrup when it goes on sale on Cyber Monday. They put it in sale on Black Friday, and then increase the discount on Cyber Monday, but you have to hope that they don’t sell out by then. I think we’ve talked about this before.
