Ooof, that is so subjective, and I havent worn the Diet N1 as the only sample is a Large and im an XXL, but I wouldnt personally wear a full fat N1 in temps of 10C / 50F or above. I can see this one working up to maybe 15-20C over a tee, depending on the person

Coincidentally, I was handling these jackets yesterday. The A2 is significantly heavier than the diet-N1 (liking that nickname!). A2 is a proper winter jacket, where as I can see the IHM-48 being a year round layering piece.

The devil is in the detail..

@AdamJ happy to hear this! I have the a2 and for Vancouver it's a wear on cold days kind of jacket, the n1 is too warm for me in our climate as much as I love it id barely ever get to wear it. Need something for between cold a2 days and the more mild UHF or type 3 only days though, sounds just about right for that!

It sounds like the perfect jacket for shoulder seasons here, but I already knew that.

Dear Santa …I’ve been mostly good this year. I’d love to see this drop soon. Thank you, Brian.

Apologies for the duplicated content on IHV-51-BRN, but it’s a similar experience.

I’m in Tokyo on a Japan honeymoon trip and paid a visit to the Hachioji store on Friday. It was a great visit and the staff were super helpful. I am an L in the N1 so I figured the same here. L was too snug, even over just a tee shirt, so the XL (larger of my L/XL range) is perfect. I loved the look of this piece in the preview, but hadn’t really earmarked to buy. But seeing it in person, damn is this going to be a useful and heavily worn jacket. It’s a great weight, and will be the one you grab without having to think. For the guys living in warmer climates yearning for an N1, I think you’ll be very happy. And for me who doesn’t live in a warm climate.. I think it’s awesome.

Hotel room is too chaotic and small for a fit pic!

@3lli0t right in between L and XL though XL more so recently. I think I’m closer to true XL.

The jacket is finally coming to (all of ) us soon since it's available at the Iron Heart store in Hachioji. It's a very cool jacket—not necessarily a winter jacket, but a fantastic transitional piece for fall and spring. I really like the sulfur-dyed yarns of this special "jungle fabric," which give the jacket a vintage look over time. The lightweight, weather-resistant Japanese Ventile cotton lining is also a great addition. The jacket goes perfectly with heavily washed jeans. It's a nice look, I must say.

@Ross Thanks. I did see that. So I’m guessing that the lining is consistent throughout, including the sleeves.

@daugustway I am thinking that if the sleeves are lined with the same ventile cotton makes it a great jacket to wear with a t-shirt.

I've got an old anorak made out of Ventile cotton; it's really a high quality, weather resistant fabric. Great choice for the lining.

                                          You're it.
