Just got hired on to a new job where I'll be required to wear a lanyard and badge. What are you guys who work in places like that wearing? I know Good Art made a badge clip at some point, but I don't think they make it anymore. Looking for something that has a hint of well-made and over-engineered in the IH spirit, what's been working for y'all? I think my starting point will be a Good Art Ball chain necklace with a silver mini BLB.

Do people in the office wear the lanyards or clip it on a belt loop? All of my offices technically have required wearing the badge high and near your face but in practice 90% of people clip it on a belt loop.
The few times I've worn a lanyard I didn't really care and just used whatever the company provided.

I guess either is fine. I have a brass BLB that I haven't been using as much lately since my keys always just stay in my backpack. I would use those, but I won't have belt loops on the clothes I'm wearing. I was just imagining using the GA chain and mini BLB that I already have and don't use that often. Wanted to give them a purpose.

@Mizmazzle I need a pair of 822s badly. After wearing my IH cargos for 3 months, I'm completely sold on the wider, straight legged fit and my slimmer jeans just don't feel right anymore...
-
@T4920 yeah man. They are seriously incredible. 21oz double knee. The top block is money. I love the leg the most.
Like you, whenever I wear my other tapered 888s or 555s they feel so different than they used to. I still love my other jeans. But my eyes have been opened to the straight leg! -
@T4920 @Mizmazzle solidarity

@SKT I just got the 21oz serge work pant and it’s by far the widest leg and cuff IH pant I own. I feel like it will have a 90’s pacific sun wear vide with sneakers on, but I’m down to give it a go. With boots they look great
-
@jordanscollected I think you’ll adjust quicker than you think. Between my 822’s, Duck Hunter cargoes and 634 Ducks, I’m fully on board with the wider cuff and leg. Also those serge work pants are the bomb…wish I had some!
-
@Mizmazzle pretty close. Maybe a hair more tapered but not by much. My 634 ducks are stacked after hemming. I can measure and tell you more when they get back
-
@sabergirl I do love that. I actually have an old Key Bak that I've had for years from other work projects. Kind of forgot I had it until I saw your post! Didn't know Josh made one, but also kind of nice to have an OG! Can't imagine what was improved upon from the original design other than the rosette logo, since it's such a simple design! The chain even looks the same.
-
Use that for your badge @chrisjohnnick. I’m not sure, but the GA one just looks like a silver plate disc popped onto the mechanism. Doesn’t seem like the engineered the whole thing from scratch.
-
@Mizmazzle I wear both the 822 and 634 and they are pretty similar, but I do prefer the 822. I love the front pocket angle on the 822 and is much easier to get my hands into the pockets. I think that is why the top block is so comfortable. I also prefer a zipper over a button fly. I’ll buy another pair of 822 when they eventually restock, but there’s still plenty of life left my pair. The 822 is probably my all time favourite pair of jeans!
-
@Mizmazzle sorry, the 634’s
-
@Denman-John agree! I would love 822 cut in any denim/fabric configuration Is that what the serge work pants is? Edit: yes, answered my own question and IH Germany has some ugh
-
@SKT @Denman-John agree on all counts. Especially the pocket design. I’m a hands in pockets guy as it is and the 822s are pocket heaven.
