IH-526L - 19oz Left-Hand Twill Selvedge Denim Type III - Indigo
-
Final pictures of mine as it's now in the classifieds.
-
Fit check before wet soak please. Do I have some room for shrinkage?
-
@aimes Yes, but it looks like it might end up a little tight. What are you wearing underneath? How do want to wear it? Open with a t-shirt? Closed with a shirt/hoodie? You can estimate the amount of expected shrinkage, see my previous posts from around the most recent restock.

IMHO you surely do. From my point of view you have no choice but to shrink it a bit, cause it looks quite not your best fit right now (sleeves & shoulders). Simply soak/wash it in a lukewarm water, without fanaticism though and I'm pretty sure it'll fit you like a glove

@Yoprst
Def Agree with ya, think the fit will be spot on once soaked. Perfect with just t shirt and prob can layer -
@meatmarketdenim1 honestly do not understand people who try to wear jean jacket as a coat, with hundreds layers underneath. Jean jacket is a jean jacket and should be worn as such. All above imho of course
-
Thanks all, looks like it will be a keeper with a warm soak. I'll keep soaking it hotter if I want more shrinkage.

Ideally, a flannel.

@Yoprst I'll throw a denim jacket when working around sharp objects at work to prevent threads from coming loose from a flannel or sashiko for example. I've found the denim to be able to withstand thread pulls better. However I can also see the appeal of wearing only a t underneath in a casual setting.

@catdad1 @ work I wear all my denim (jeans/jackets/shirts) underneath coverall to prevent/avoid critical damage, as shipbuilding industry has quite tough working inviroment - metall all around, paint, welding etc.
-
BTW fellas, how do you wash your jean jackets in the washing machine - buttoned or unbuttoned?
-
@spitfiredealer why would you sell this beauty?? What a masterpiece.
-
@Mizmazzle turned inside out, I understand
-
@Mizmazzle bit too snug
-
@aimes Sounds good! I would go for it, doing gradually hotter soaks is a good idea. I prefer a tighter fit on type 3’s personally
-
This jacket says not to run in the dryer (with all raw denim) but I feel like that would soften up this insanely tough denim if ran for a short time.
-
@aimes looks good. That's how mine looked. I soaked it 1hr 30c and then a cold wash, no spin. Fits perfect. That way It'll shrink about 1 inch in the sleeves and body. Everything else pretty minimal.

Day 28!

Tried on the lefty again today at SF self edge. Wife picked up sweet pair of samurais. The medium fits rather big, but with shrinkage accounted for think it would end up fitting perfect. Wouldn’t wanna layer with this one, My usual size large is way too big in new batch of these. Even with shrinkage don’t think would be fit looking for. I Didn’t feel like had to have it just yet, so going hold off and keep rocking my lefty OD, and other CPOs/jackets in rotation. Maybe in the near future will pick it up?
