        Trent and the gang this evening. It was a phenomenal show. He went back and forth between a small center stage and the main. There was a thin shroud around the stage giving the light effects a 3D look. He played a handful of hits and his new song which I like. Good time…

          The opener, Boys Noize was a German DJ who was actually pretty dope but no one was dancing so it felt like a sober rave. Or like a really shitty vampire nightclub. He did a set in the center stage with TR and AR which went pretty hard.

            I thought the Boyz Noize intro and centre stage worked really well.

            Did you have Josh on drums @Matt? Fuck the Fooies.

              @Heritage_Guy agreed! Immaculate reinterpretations, and they covered some favorites of mine (The Eleven > St Stephen, Stella Blue) and my wife’s (Eyes of the World).

              They opened with Revival by the great Dickey Betts (and later I heard a tease of In Memory of Elizabeth Reed), and later, Hard to Handle (Otis Redding) and Good Lovin (The Olympics) in the first set. So half of the songs in the opening set wound up being covers of other artists, though the latter two common Dead covers. The other non Dead cover I can think of was Lawyers, Guns, and Money by Warren Zevon in the second set. A great night!

              In past shows I’ve even seen the likes of Radiohead and Springsteen covers. They always do such a great job and you never know what they might do.

              Think it, be it.

                @Bridger yeah, he was sick.

                There’s actually a pretty watchable video I found on YT of the 8/15 Denver show. I don’t want to post it here since it’s a full show. It’s easy to find for anyone interested. I recommend checking it out. The time bar actually shows the song names when you scroll which is helpful.

                  That's awesome to hear @Matt, Josh is one of my favorite drummers.

                  No idea what happened with him and Grohl, but great that he is back with the Niners.

                    @Bridger I don’t profess to know what happened with Josh and Grohl,but after seeing them with Josh,and having seen him with Taylor,I felt that the bands groove was off,it just didn’t swing,which is so important for any band. He ,technically,played the songs correctly and with precision,but the rest of the band seemed to miss Taylor and it just wasn’t happening. Have to figure that if I noticed it they must’ve noticed it.

                      That's really interesting insight @Jett129.

                      Having just read Sympathy for the Drummer, I get what you mean.

                      I am not a fooies "fan", but I did see Josh with them last year and I loved the power and double kick that he brought to the songs. However, music is subjective, and we all enjoy different things.

                      Be interesting to see how things get on for Rubin. I give him less than 2 years at a stretch.

                        @Bridger Sympathy for the Drummer is a great book and there was a copy going around the Forum for a little while. Foo Fighters had kind of lost me as of late, and I wasn’t paying attention as to who their new drummer might be. Thanks for the info.
