Jordanscollected’s Hobby Farm

@jordanscollected magnificent set up. I hope she knows what kind of effort you put into that. It shows so much love! Well done dude.
-
@jordanscollected The farm looks great and I love seeing the progress pics and stories. Happy birthday to your wife and hope they left by 9

This thread is the most wholesome thing I've seen in a good long while. Love it!

Happy bday to Allie @jordanscollected and compliments on her beautiful attire!

A couple months ago I entered a photo we took last fall into the Hanover photo competition. This was the first time they held the competition and the criteria was you have to live in the city, and the photo must be taken within city limits. While most people took photos in places around town, we just needed to step into the back yard and catch Nola looking out into the mist.
Anyhow we took first place. The same woman got 2nd and 3rd and I could maybe hear her angry that she got beat by a guy in a denim vest.

@jordanscollected that’s a beautiful pic congrats on taking home 1st place. How’s farm life?
-
@SKT Thanks Sean! Farm life is great, but I have to admit I wasn't fully prepared for every hobby to get shelved.
The golf clubs are full of spider webs, the boat (currently in the shop) was collecting dust, my pool table is disassembled in the garage. Even horseback riding has been difficult to find the time to do. I do still play softball on Thursday nights.
On the plus side, I also wasn't prepared for how relaxing and rewarding a full day of chores and hanging around the farm with the ducks and chickens and horses would be. some weekends we close the gate at the end of the driveway and don't open it till Monday morning.

We always said we weren’t getting a rooster. No way no how. Then we got a request from an old family friend to take in a rooster who’s hens all died this summer. One picture and my mind changed.
This is “Zucchini” or “Zucch The Duke”. He’s a Silky Blue and he’s still recovering from fighting with our top hen for pecking order.
His best trait is using treats to lure women. If we give him a piece of grape, he drops it and calls the hens to come get his offering.

-
@jordanscollected i hope you never lose that feeling.

My wife took some incredible photos of the farm this morning.

Beautiful photos @jordanscollected

Great photos! I love the lighting at this time of year. Thanks for sharing.

A few recent shots. It’s crazy we’ve been at the farm over a year now. Summer flew by and winter is nearly upon us again.
We got the cats fixed so they can wander about now. We had a few scares where they didn’t come back at dark but they always returned and it’s gotten easier to call them home.
The boy ducks have been reintegrated back into the flock after being “jailed” for mating too frequently with the younger ducks.
Now to get prepared for the cold weather and dark afternoons.

Beau recently was shod with pads on his front hooves. He suffers from White Line disease which causes some unwanted grown patterns of the bottom the hoof. He also has some arthritis which is normal for a horse his age (19).
The shoes seem to help a ton with his comfort on gravel roads and paths, and some with his arthritis.

Here is an update on my leather wrapped pool cue. I originally posted this when I had the Wabash tour chore coat. @Alex was kind enough to provide me a scrap of veg tan leather to create a custom pool cue wrap. It's taking on great color and showing zero signs of wear. thank you again Mr. Padmore and IHUK team who helped on this one.
The leather as new and installed

1.5 year update.
