dont know where this belongs or if appropriate, but the number of when will this restock, when will the sizing chart be updated, when will the other restock, and all these derivative questions that are repeated over and over are really detracting from the content of each thread, decreasing their signal:noise ratio, and otherwise just adding absolutely nothing to the forum.

I understand we're all excited, but in no world does it make sense for IH to withhold information on when something is coming into stock and to post measurements the instant they have them. Can these types of post just be stopped / deleted or should they?

I'd love to see a kind of 'mod-cleaning-procedure' for over repeated stuff.

The extra annoying part of these questions is they tend to be from people who don’t contribute anything else to the forum.

@Mizmazzle an extension of this is people who don't contribute but use the forum exclusively as a means to sell and offload gear. Although I am sure I am not the first or last to point that out...but my therapist would be happy to hear that I am sharing my opinion. 🙃

Do you/any of you think that redundant question ,of when will you have it etc.,is kind of believed to be way to sort of ingratiate one's self to The Forum,by showing that you're already obsessed with the item that's coming out. I think there's a good chance I may have been guilty of that 14 years ago when I first started posting. I found The Forum very intimidating back then, and felt that a When will you have it was a safe post especially if you were fortunate enough to get the IWHIWIHI response from Giles. I thought that was really unbelievably cool at the time. Kind of like a Forum badge of honor. Any merit to my theory?

Agree with all of the above. As a newcomer to the forum I was certainly guilty of over posting asking for release date info. After a couple of years here it is rather frustrating opening product threads I am excited about just to see someone has asked when it is arriving. Maybe change the forum page banner to “IWHWITH” with some friendly advice not to bother asking when stuff is arriving, cos you will ALWAYS let everyone know when it is arriving a couple of weeks before hand anyway..

If you’ve been on The Forum for any length of time you should know the drill by now and you should also know that people are going to be asking redundant questions, and that it’s not stopping any time soon. So knowing that up front, either, don’t frequent the threads where that is prevalent until the day before the item you want is about to drop,or just scroll through. There’s so many really great threads on the Forum where that’s not a problem. This should be the biggest problem you/we have in life.

@Jett129 I think that really is the best explanation of life here…everything is a big cycle and for those of us who have been around a few of those cycles get annoyed seeing the repetitive nature of it. Honestly I don’t know if there is anything that could or should be done. As you previously stated, some individuals are unsure of how to interact here and the safe option is “release information related questions”.

I also think that this entire question of repetitive questions is just a part of that cycle as newer members start seeing the repetitiveness themselves. It’s easy to forget that we were all there once and that there are many steps of becoming “enlightened”. Some people can deal with it, some can’t…If you were to do a survey of all of the old timers and asked what their number one issue for leaving the forum was, the answer could possibly be related to this cyclical nature.

As mods/admin, we discuss ways of making things better all of the time. It’s hard to reinvent the wheel when this has worked for so many for so long, but we do continue to try. Do we have a magic bullet that would fix it? No. Can it be fixed? Possibly, but that would mean changes to the way the forum works.

Putting roadblocks into place to prevent newer members posting would ruin what makes this place special. We need new members to keep things interesting. We need older members here to remain tolerant and helpful for those who don’t know how this place works. We also need people to spend a little time reading what’s been written before. Also, a little time reading the rules makes life easier for all of us.

Topics such as politics and religion are extremely divisive. People come here to get away from those topics as you see them every day in the news and in daily interactions. When we say no to a topic, it’s to prevent the collapse of so many other platforms that have come and went.

Sorry for the ramblings of a senile old man, but I needed to get this off my chest.

After the thing that was the self edge collab threads from very recent and seemingly seeing that about 50% of the new posts over the past couple weeks were these cyclic derivative non content posts it must have set me off.

My concern was that with the influx of new folks we mention, they're seeing this being accepted, and it was/is perhaps creating positive feedback that will increase these questions and follow-up posts from mods to ping ShopatIronHeart, their responses, and replies. Thus, the original question then spawns at least 3 more posts of limited use or value to the forum as a whole.

One idea could be to have a "when will it restock?" thread for these questions to get them out of the product thread. Just like having a forum rule to prohibit selling or even hinting at selling stuff in their product thread, we push that to the appropriate marketplace. Then we can choose to engage or ignore that thread. Anyway, thanks to everyone for listening.

Though I'd personally just delete all questions about sizing chart updates unless is pertains to errors or mistakes.

I have just created a post here:

To save you the trouble of clicking😛 , here it is:

We are delighted with the interaction with customers that this forum uniquely gives us. We don't want you to stop asking us questions, because if you don’t know the answer then nothing is a stupid question. The forum is above all a resource for people to explore and educate themselves about Iron Heart products. However, one issue we do have (which actually annoys other members more than us) are repeat questions about release dates and sizing that have been answered recently in the same thread. So please try and be a good citizen and take a quick look back through the thread to see if the question you're about to ask has already been answered.

We aim to be very transparent as a company, and will publish information on release dates and sizing data as soon as we can. Our very existence relies on our ability to sell our products, we therefore do everything possible to get this information out into the public domain as early as we can (and the forum is where we always publish this sort of information first). We want our customer base to be as well-informed as possible to enable them to buy an item they want in a size that fits as soon as it becomes available.

Before we release a product, we will publish a sizing table, and before we re-release a product we will publish an updated sizing table, or if there are no changes to sizing we will tell you. And, we will do that as soon as possible, but we can never do it before we have a complete size range to hand in Gosport.

Regarding release dates, we will always publish that data as soon as we can, which typically is once we have the product physically delivered to us in Gosport. Up to that point, any date we publish will be a guesstimate. The appropriate product forum thread is where this data will be published. You can “watch” a thread as per:

                                            watching.jpg

You can also see known release/re-release dates by clicking on “Calendar” in the forum top menu bar. So keep an eye on the forum thread or in the calendar for the latest info - if it's not there it's because we don’t know. And asking us will not magically change that!

                                            cal.jpg

You can view non-seasonal future releases by navigating to: SHOP/PAST & FUTURE/FUTURE RELEASES from the Iron Heart home page

You can view future seasonal releases (in this case Fall/Winter 2025) by navigating to this page: https://ironheart.co.uk/collections/fall-winter-2025-collection

If you want to be informed when a product has been released or restocked, simply sign up for email alerts. You can do that for specific products as per:

                                            restock.jpg

Or you can sign up for email alerts for ALL new releases by clicking in here.

Finally, we are not perfect, and sometimes forget to do stuff or make a mistake so please feel free to call us out, and we'll fix it.
