Random Rants

Recently bought my 3rd belt from Bullhide Belts. The previous 2 are stamped 40 and fit perfectly. Upon trying the new belt, also stamped 40, I was on the last hole. Thinking that’s odd,I measured it against the other 2 belts and it’s 2 inches longer. I reach out to the company they have me remeasure the belts. The older belts are about 38 inches and the new one is in fact 40 inches. I send them a picture of all 3 belts side by side to show the discrepancy in lengths. To which they replied…Those are older belts and we’ve since changed the way that we measure. Use the enclosed form and exchange it for a 38. Thought it would’ve been nice if they offered to cover the return shipping. I paid shipping to get it.

@Mizmazzle They said it was because other belt companies were doing it that way.

Yeah it’s not too hard to cut from the buckle end if they are using something like Chicago screws to allot buckle removal and replacement.

dont know where this belongs or if appropriate, but the number of when will this restock, when will the sizing chart be updated, when will the other restock, and all these derivative questions that are repeated over and over are really detracting from the content of each thread, decreasing their signal:noise ratio, and otherwise just adding absolutely nothing to the forum.
I understand we're all excited, but in no world does it make sense for IH to withhold information on when something is coming into stock and to post measurements the instant they have them. Can these types of post just be stopped / deleted or should they?

@Mizmazzle an extension of this is people who don't contribute but use the forum exclusively as a means to sell and offload gear. Although I am sure I am not the first or last to point that out...but my therapist would be happy to hear that I am sharing my opinion.

At least scroll up a few weeks to a few months and see if there has been an update is my rule. I learned this a while ago. Understand it's the cost/availability/sellout risk that is the reason. For me at least. People want to have the resources for go time!

@derek111 hard for me to trust someone who just joined the forum! Agree

Do you/any of you think that redundant question ,of when will you have it etc.,is kind of believed to be way to sort of ingratiate one's self to The Forum,by showing that you're already obsessed with the item that's coming out. I think there's a good chance I may have been guilty of that 14 years ago when I first started posting. I found The Forum very intimidating back then, and felt that a When will you have it was a safe post especially if you were fortunate enough to get the IWHIWIHI response from Giles. I thought that was really unbelievably cool at the time. Kind of like a Forum badge of honor. Any merit to my theory?

@Jett129 you could be onto something. I think it may be more of the squeaky wheel gets the oil mentality. Thinking, the more they ask the sooner it will come.

This might just be the most welcoming, well behaved forum in all of cyberspace, and I think you can get away with a lot of shit here that would get you destroyed out there in the real world. If you want to be obsessive/compulsive this is the place, come on in. Some may feel that's their ticket into the club.

@Jett129 I think you’re speaking truth man. I remember being new and asking the annoying newbie questions. But trying to contribute and get involved with the community goes a long way towards being a member and not just a bot asking the same shit that can easily be found with a bit of reading of the threads.
