Thanks, mate. I read it already… what a beautiful soul from Mike and his mom… thoughts and prayer

130 wears today with just one soapy soak at 100 wears. I don't really count a soapy soak as a real wash. They just made soapy denim tea in the bathtub. But it does help me prolong the time I wait to throw them into the washing machine. They definitely need that real wash, but I think I'll wait a little bit longer.

@Oaktavia How's the jump back and forth between the XHSIB and the UHR going? Any thoughts about the two, one that's feels like it fades faster, is more smooth or rough or breathable, one that you're growing more affectionate towards, etc? Be curious to know which one of your darling twins you are loving more
especially since you're wearing these two heavy fuckers in the heat.

It is going well! I am alternating every other day UHR and XHSib and have been doing so since last Halloween. It is definitely slower going compared to fading just one pair at a time, obviously. But the point of this 50:50 idea is to still be able to fade heavyweights at a measurable and reasonable rate while being able to wear more than one pair of pants. So my goal is to go two years straight with these two.
Plus, I plan to start fading my pair of Loom Breakers solo for my next fade project. I hypothesize my perception of fade progress will seem even quicker considering I will be used to the 50:50 speed, at least at first.

I chose the UHR and XHSib because they are both known to fade rapidly when worn a lot. That way, I would still see results as the weeks and months progressed. They really do seem to be fading at practically the same rate. XHSib is smoother than UHR but they are both relatively smooth after some wear. As far as breathability, I cannot really tell much of a difference, but if I had to put money on it, I would say UHR. I also chose these two jeans because I have such an admiration for the heavyweight nature of them. I feel connected to these jeans, in a similar way that Filthy Mike responded to his own pairs. I feel strong affection towards both.

I love them both for their own unique traits. If I absolutely had to choose just one, it would be XHSib. That was my first denim I ever purchased from IH (a pair of 555XHSib in 2019) and will always be my favorite. Just don't tell the UHR that...

Is there any news on a restock on this denim. I saw the indigo 25 oz restocked, hoping for this in the near future.

@Heritage_Guy Hey! We are restocking these in the coming months.
We are expecting these to land around Sept/Oct time.
If you haven't already, I would sign up for the restock notification

Hi all
I currently own two pairs of 777 cut but looking for something a bit more roomy all around in XHSib, mainly in the crotch and knees. The 777 works well for me as I like to wear my jeans quite low and slim fitting however I do find there is just a bit of pressure in the groin and on the knees when sitting/squatting etc.
This has lead me to either 666 or 888 for my first 25oz as I want a bit more maneuverability with denim of that weight.
However I am worried the 666 is too close and will shrink even closer to 777 dimensions.
My concern with the 888 is that it will be the opposite and a bit too much room mainly in the top block and I will just have a load of saggy fabric in the seat. I think the extra 1"+ in the thighs and knees will be exactly what I am looking for so really my main worry is the front + rear rise.
So my questions are:
Can anyone give me any idea how much stretch to expect with the front and rear rise with wear after a hot soak? I'm guessing(hoping) as there is not so much pressure on these areas the will stay close to where they shrink to?
Can anyone comment on going from low rise jeans (777) to high rise (888)? Is it tough to get used to? How much higher do you really have to pull them up?
There are many users on here who are able pull off various cuts and always look comfortable and stylish so I'm hoping its not going to be as much of a challenge as I keep telling myself!

There is alot to unpack there @hjl360. The 666 probably has even slimmer thigh than the 777 but a bit more room at the knee. As far as shrinkage in the rise? It will be permanent. In my experience anything you loose length wise it doesn't come back, width wise it usually comes back to pre soak/wash measurements.
The 888 is a very different cut than the 777. They seat at your natural waist and not the hips. And they have more room at the thigh and probably knee than the 777. Its a beautiful cut and for most people if you get the waist right the rest should fall into place -
@yannis thank you for the response. That is what I was hoping to hear regarding the rise.
So I take it generally a smaller waist measurement is required in the 888 vs the 777 accounting for them sitting higher?

@hjl360. I will say you are on the right track thinking about a smaller waist measurement. Just don't get carried away. Too tight of a 25oz is not fun.
