Still think you can get almost a half Size out the OD in a really hot 60° + bath soak with some Powder and agitation added.

            Joking aside.

Previously 3 OD Items that I have bought in XL and I then aggressively soaked with the intention of achieving a little further shrinkage if possible, all tightened up to drop by over a ½ inch in the Chest and a ½ inch in length and sleeve.

            These items were:.

            • 12 Oz Western OD Shirt. SIize XL
            • 14 Oz Type 3 OD Jacket. Size XL
            • 18 Oz Vintage OD CPO Jacket. Size XL

Other dimensions I did not measure as these 3 dimensions were the ones that I was hoping for a little further shrinkage in.

@Goz think that 2nd one looks better. 1st was good and think you could go either way and have a great fitting jacket, but that little extra room of the 2nd will allow for more comfortable layering. Mine fits similar to yours and I’m very happy with it

@M800sct1 you were able to shrink an OD item that much?! I'm surprised as I did not think that was possible. Was the water pretty hot? Any agitation? I need to try that on my 295-BB i just picked up.

@Goz it looks like we had a very similar decision and fit between two sizes. If it makes any difference to you, I'm seeing a lot of really subtle similarities in how they fit on me. Ultimately, with those in mind and how they look on you, I'd say go for the larger of the two unless you really want a very trim look for only wearing with a tee.

@pechelman Thanks I truly understand your dilemma, I can't make up my mind. When I put on the larger size it looks kind of big to me but it is more comfortable.

I know this doesn’t help…I have a few different type III’s in layering and trim sizes. You need to decide first how you’re going to wear it. Factors such as climate, style, and comfort are all very important. Warm climate where I would wear a t-shirt all of the time and I would go trim. Going to wear it over flannels and hoodies and I would go for a little bigger.

I have different sizes because as I have four very distinct seasons and like to wear everything from smart (trim) to cosy (oversized). It really depends on how you want to wear it.

If you are only going to have one jacket, make it count and pick the one that matches you and your style.

As a side note: you probably aren’t going to own just one over time…I tried and failed miserably 😂

@Goz Not going to lie and say it’s a tough choice. Over the t-shirt and definitely the first jacket. Trim and very smart!! Over the hoodie and I would pick the second jacket.

Both look very good on you. The areas I always am looking for are where the shoulder seams line to your shoulder, the chest, and the overall length. Shoulders look good on both jackets, chest is a toss up depending on what you’re wearing underneath (t-shirt vs. hoodie), and length is good on both.

You’ve got the perfect build for the type III and either of them would be a keeper in my opinion.
