This is(screenshot) from the current, sold out jackets page. It's pretty clear?

Yes it is clear. The question is regarding pervious runs I think.

Kinda happy it’s sold out, cuz was thinking I had to get it lol. For the best, No extra denim money rn and working on the lefty OD , as well as few other CPOs, and have the 14oz Type 3 in rotation. Like everyone else too many fade projects. Maybe next run or if one pops up in buy/sell near future.

what more is there to say about shrinkage beyond the amazing test they did on this run? This is just incredible and way above and beyond for any company to do.

I think people here are not understanding the question… It’s simply if this run is the first run that isn’t washed - all signs are pointing to this but the boys will be able to give a definitive answer.

@nrtphotos. The 19L was always one washed and unsanforized. That hasn't changed. And because is no sanforized there is some shrinkage left and all depends how you will wash it. A cold soak will yield a small amount of shrinkage amd a really hot soak or wash will make it shrink a bit more.

Am I missing something here? One washed means it has been soaked so most of the shrinkage is gone, but there is still some shrinkage to be had.

Unsanforized means it has never been soaked.

Am I wrong? How can it be one washed and unsanforized at the same time?

For the questions regarding shrink and soaking before wearing here is my advice:

                          1. Size this jacket based on where it will end up after you wash it.
                          2. You’re going to want to wash it when you get it other wise it will fit horribly out of the bag. It shrinks down like 1.5-2 sizes so you’re not going to be happy with fit pre-wash.
                          3. Unless you plan to NEVER wash this jacket (and why would you ever want to do that?) getting the shrink out initially is really the only way to go about things when you get the jacket.

The newest shrink test shows that the size goes down ~one size if the full shrink potential is reached. I would not recommend to go with 2 sizes bigger.

                            This is the clarification.

                            526L - unsanforised, unwashed
                            526Lod -unsanforised, unwashed, then OD
                            634/666---etc-19l - unsanf, washed
634/666---etc-19lod - unsanf, washed, and ODed

This denim and these products have had various treatment over the years. The above (and what’s on the product pages) is what is accurate currently

If this is helpful to anyone, I'm putting together a little vid to demonstrate the shrinkage. That should be live over the weekend, but for now, here are a couple of screenshots showing before/after soaking and washing, using the jacket from the shrink test Alex posted above.

I'm 5'8" and usually wear a size L in our Type III. Straight off the rack, the L is pretty big and tent-like on me, but post-soak and washing the fit is much better. I'd say the shrink test jacket fits about the same as the overdyed version (which is pre-shrunk due to the overdyeing process), but a little bigger than my old 14oz Type III (which has been washed a few times).

As with all our denim, I'd expect the fit to only improve over time as the fabric softens and the arm creases set in. Of course, it's going to be a personal preference - but if I were planning on picking one up, I'd stick to my usual size L and wouldn't size up or down. Trust the soak process!

I want to publicly thank the IHUK crew for doing what they do best by clarifying the situation and responding with facts. I appreciate what you guys (forum members) were trying to do and the questions that were being asked, but it’s not always helpful for someone just wanting to buy the latest and greatest release.

@SamD has done a great job illustrating the sizing differences, the charts are extremely helpful for potential buyers, and @sabergirl hit on a really great point about reading the thread for past product information.

This place works when everyone does their part. When we don’t chaos ensues and it makes it difficult for everyone.

The IHUK crew is the absolute best resource for information regarding Ironheart items. They know it, live it, and work with it daily. When they don’t know it, they go directly to Japan for the bosses input.

I appreciate that your (forum members) information and insights is all very helpful, but sometimes it’s best to let IHUK answer some of these questions directly.
