I've been waiting for these like crazy. But I'm wondering if I should keep wearing the 21oz I've got and wait for the IB? I've never had XHS for reference. I'd be a 36 in this run also so 9.1" knee and 8.6" hem is huge imo. How much will those shrink? Thanks! I doubt my seamstress can't taper these lol
-
You may loose 0.2 to 0.3 of the hem width probably not more. 8.6 hem feels too wide for you?
-
I agree the hem is wider than I would have preferred and hoped for. And the annoying thing is that the 777’s are basically identical from the thigh and down. The difference between the models is pretty much in the rise.
I’m hoping for a slightly narrower hem on the I/B 777 or 555.
-
777 was my first foray into Iron Heart. The low rise made me look ridiculous.(More than normal
) I'm always tempted to try again but it's a fools errand. Yes I like a tapered taper. These 21oz 555 are down to 7.5ish and my RGT SK are 7.8. if my waist was 3 sizes lower I'd be set.

-
keep in mind the waist shrinks ~1" after the initial soak. Knee and hem would theoretically shrink accordingly. I found XHS to shrink the most out of all my IH fabrics. That being said i took my normal size as the size charts appear to account for shrinkage.
-
@catdad1 indeed. That's how I settled on the 36 tag size. Close to a 35 but it's to close for my first XHS. We will see though, lots of measurements taken this week
-
Not the end of the world but I'm glad I measured! I'd need a small 38 as my jeans are 19" measured the IH way.

@Graham see you Friday lol

Just recieved my 1st pair of 25oz after seeing there was only 1 pair left in tag 36. It's starting to get cold here so I decided now's the time.
After trying them on initially, they felt a little too loose in the thighs and knees. Ended up soaking them for an hour, air-dryed and threw them on while they were still just barely damp. After soaking I was concerned that they were a bit too snug, but within a couple of hours I could really start to feel them molding to my body. Ended up wearing them for around 5 hours and by the time I took them off, they were feeling pretty dang good. My wife says she really likes the fit on me.
Excited to put them through their paces over the winter
Update: Day 2, i put them on this morning and it's very apparent how much they shaped to my body in the initial wear. They feel really comfortable today. When i was sliding them on you could feel all the contours from where they molded to me and how everything just kinda "fell into place"

These are now at 324 wears and 5 washes.
Currently on a break as I'm doing the Indigo Invitational in a different pair.

Day 1

Love everything in those. But a bit worried about sizing. Did initial soak in lukewarm water for a few seconds then directly in the washing machine, delicate mode for one hour, 30 degrees, no spin before drip dry.
After this, the difference in inseam was negligible and I didn’t measure the waist but after a few hours it was already half a centimeter bigger than pre wash..
Shall I expect a lot of more stretch at waist or further shrinkage during next wash (so maybe doing it soon in stronger conditions)?

-
@Carlito that looks like a great fit to me. Congrats!
If you machine-washed for an hour at 30 degrees, you'll have taken out a good part of the shrinkage. A second and third wash may lead to some extra shrinkage, especially if you use a higher temperature, but nothing spectacular I'd say.
When you wear them, the waist will stretch back to roughly pre-soak measurements.
What exactly are you concerned about? That they'll stretch back too much or not enough?
