@Snafu The OD process essentially shrinks the shirt the most it can be shrunk.
So its essentially the same as the non-OD version hot washed and hot dried.
Being 1.5in smaller than there typical XXL measurement is pretty reasonable/ typical.Yea, I get that, I’m just confused about how that particular seems to have had more shrinkage than every other size. Like how did XXXL only shrink .5 inch while the XXL shrunk 1.5 inch.
It makes zero sense to me.

@Snafu Yeah you're not wrong. That measurement does look way off. I'd email Self Edge and ask if someone can remeasure the chest in the size you want. Maybe they'll will get back to you before the release.

@Snafu remember that the chest measurement is a flat measurement doubled. So being an inch to an inch and a half under means the flat measurement was .5 to .75 less than normal.
So where most other things shrank by .5, this could have shrank .75, seems within the realm

I asked for some measurements and was told they were in storage until the launch and remeasures won't take place until next week (via email). The response was lightning fast which I appreciated.

@crollee That's a pretty disappointing response though, the majority of these $400+ pieces are likely going to be ordered in 15hrs, but they dont have time to ensure the website measurements are correct.
This has made me really appreciate the IH team and how much they do for us. -
@lolnah to be fair to SE, often for popular releases we say the same thing - place your order and we’ll give you measurements when we can, and if they don’t work we cancel and refund the order. I appreciate that SE only does returns for credit, but I think this is quite commonplace in the USA, not a SE exclusive policy.

@Alex I'd personally expect an actual refund if the measurements confirmed after the fact are different than what are being advertised. Honestly I don't think it's too much to ask for a 450 dollar shirt to be measured properly

It's a weird issue for sure. I'd have two people measure 2 or 3 shirts per size and average them. Err'ing to the lower one slightly. My issue is the uncertainty around the new OD system. Time, types of fading, even certainty of the fade is up in the air. Lots of "we expect" and "we suspect" lol. That's not for me at $525. I still ordered a jacket from them(SE). The old school OD 14oz. Was going to order together tomorrow but my size went from 6 to 3 fast lol felt like I was buying denim history sadly. I was hoping the lefty restock would've be sulphur dyed but the 1oz difference leads me to do some "expecting" of my own and guess it will be the new unknown type like this one.

@CosmoSix5 , that 14oz OD is a great jacket. It's one of the first ones I bought and I loved it dearly.

@VegaS10 I nearly bought it from IH when the last restock happened. Then a friend offered me his, passed on that as it was a little big. Not to many floating around now. Glad SE had them. I mentioned in my order notes that I'd be ordering a shirt tomorrow if they wanted to just ship one package. Seems to be the case as the order is still in processing. Either way, a lot of denim incoming. Including this yesterday lol

@CosmoSix5 I quite literally trust Haraki-San and Kiya and Giles/IHUK. If the new OD sucked it wouldn’t have been produced at this production volume. No way this release is gonna disappoint. I’m only hearing positive things from those who seen it IRL.
Lucky me. Things turned positive for me today…didnt think I was gonna have the cash flow to purchase any of this collection. Thinking now I may get the 633od. kinda in an old school way brings it back to the start for me:
Bought these SEXIH07od’s 15 years ago when they released. Must have worn them +500 days. Wore ‘em downhill biking and crashed out hard on Whister A line trying to keep up with my buddies. Second time on a mountain bike and new to living out west.
IIRC, these were second run of the OD: first being SEXIH03. Very few examples of OD fades then.
Back then half the japanese denim we bought was STF. Cant imagine what the collective anxiety about sizing STF these days would be… haha
