SEXIH25-CPO - Self Edge x Iron Heart 19oz Denim CPO Shirt
-
@fuzzybunnies, *can stretch out.
If the denim isn’t stressed it won’t change dimensionally. That’s obvious. But practically, I wouldn't assume that, for example, the shirt will get longer from normal wear. -
@Gavin666 I have been trying to figure out the sizing myself (I am interested in the indigo version) and compared Self Edge's measurements on the 292 to the collab cpo. For my size range they are pretty close to each other yet different than the measurements on the Iron Heart site. Based on the different measurements I would guess that a medium in the indigo version would fit similar to a medium in the 292 on me (i.e. as a shacket rather than a shirt).
I think for the best guess, find your size in the 293OD on the Iron Heart site and then see how Self Edge's measurements for the 293OD and the SEXIH25-CPOOD compare. I bought the 293OD in a large as I wanted to wear it as a shacket and based on Self Edge's measurements I would buy the same size in the SEXIH25-CPOOD for the same fit.
I hope this makes sense as I know my explanation is a bit convoluted. Not fool proof by any means but probably a good enough guide assuming that Self Edge's measurements for both the 293OD and the SEXIH25-CPOOD are consistent across those pieces.

I’m normally a XXL and looking at the OD version.
Having a hard time understanding how most other sizes are around a half inch smaller in the chest, but XXL is reported as 1.5” smaller. This has to be a mis-measurement, right?
I’m pretty certain the XXXL would be too big, but XXL as reported would be too small.
-
@Snafu The OD process essentially shrinks the shirt the most it can be shrunk.
So its essentially the same as the non-OD version hot washed and hot dried.
Being 1.5in smaller than there typical XXL measurement is pretty reasonable/ typical. -

It makes zero sense to me.
-
@Snafu Yeah you're not wrong. That measurement does look way off. I'd email Self Edge and ask if someone can remeasure the chest in the size you want. Maybe they'll will get back to you before the release.
-
@Snafu remember that the chest measurement is a flat measurement doubled. So being an inch to an inch and a half under means the flat measurement was .5 to .75 less than normal.
So where most other things shrank by .5, this could have shrank .75, seems within the realm

@Snafu Sorry I misunderstood what you were saying.
Let us know if you get an answer from SE about the sizing.
It looks like I need a XXXL instead of my normal XXXL, but I dont want to be swimming in it. -

I asked for some measurements and was told they were in storage until the launch and remeasures won't take place until next week (via email). The response was lightning fast which I appreciated.
-
Here is a little more details that I don't think I've seen elsewhere about the denim itself.
From SE's most recent IG post comments.
-
@crollee That's a pretty disappointing response though, the majority of these $400+ pieces are likely going to be ordered in 15hrs, but they dont have time to ensure the website measurements are correct.
This has made me really appreciate the IH team and how much they do for us. -
@lolnah to be fair to SE, often for popular releases we say the same thing - place your order and we’ll give you measurements when we can, and if they don’t work we cancel and refund the order. I appreciate that SE only does returns for credit, but I think this is quite commonplace in the USA, not a SE exclusive policy.

@Alex Thanks for the perspective, sorry for being a downer.
I am still 100% planning on getting in on this at 9am tomorrow. -
…and if it dont work out…so what, take the store credit and buy another/future IH release. What are ya gonna do? stop buying IH? not
-
@Alex I'd personally expect an actual refund if the measurements confirmed after the fact are different than what are being advertised. Honestly I don't think it's too much to ask for a 450 dollar shirt to be measured properly
Edit - didn't mean for that to sound hostile. I would just hope they make it right if it's wrong
-
@lolnah Funny, looking in the comments I see @Notsam. I listen to his Sirius xm show weekly and he is starting to wear a lot of IH shirts

It's a weird issue for sure. I'd have two people measure 2 or 3 shirts per size and average them. Err'ing to the lower one slightly. My issue is the uncertainty around the new OD system. Time, types of fading, even certainty of the fade is up in the air. Lots of "we expect" and "we suspect" lol. That's not for me at $525. I still ordered a jacket from them(SE). The old school OD 14oz. Was going to order together tomorrow but my size went from 6 to 3 fast lol felt like I was buying denim history sadly. I was hoping the lefty restock would've be sulphur dyed but the 1oz difference leads me to do some "expecting" of my own and guess it will be the new unknown type like this one.
