@Kasi I had never heard of Miles Caton until the Sinners release - I hope he brings out more music in this genre, great voice!

      My contribution, to urban blues…

        Sinners was PURE CINEMA.

That one particular scene when music is playing and everyone is dancing (no spoilers) was genius. Brilliant movie, music slapped.

< something witty TBC here >

I really enjoyed Sinners. It had a lot of deep symbolism and addressed some uniquely American themes. I’m still trying to unpack everything and could probably use a 2nd viewing to fully understand and appreciate all of what Coogler was trying to say. Highly recommend

Watched Sinners in IMAX (Dual Laser and 1.43:1 screen). Beautiful presentation (the full aspect ratio scenes were insane), great story and great music.

@endo we went to Manchester Printworks which is second biggest in the UK but would have loved to have done the BFI in London but it's much further away. Have seen Tenet and Oppenheimer in 70mm Film at the BFI and it's unreal. Love film projection.

I really want to see that one. Set in my ancestral homeland, infused with blues and blues lore, set in juke joints… right up my alley. It’ll have to be solo I think though, the wife can’t handle too much violence and gore 🤣

                      Think it, be it.

@mclaincausey I hope you get to catch it, I’d be interested in your thoughts especially since you have first hand experience living in the Deep South. Your wife should definitely skip this one though…I’d say blood is one of the main themes

I haven’t seen it but my girl Lana Del Rey has a song called Paris, TX and the video is scenes from the movie. It’s supposed to be one of the most beautifully shot movies and I love the actors in it. I just haven’t found time to watch it yet. One of my favorite LDR songs though.

@GraemeE you should definitely watch it, it’s beautiful. You’ll need patience as it moves slowly, but its rewarding and very emotional.
