      Wore my Dad's one of these to football last night. Awesome jacket.

      I've been talking about wanting one for a while and on Friday, @AdamC said to me "Oh, there is one in the packing area in Large actually". I thought, what a result!

      I went over to try it on.. and it fitted me. Went back to our office and Alex said "Oh, you're getting one as well as Giles?"

      Turns out I was wearing the one Giles had special ordered from Japan, if I hadn't worn it back to the office, I'd have gone home in @Giles new jacket 😂

      The devil is in the detail..

          I bought in my normal Iron Heart Flannel size medium. Beautiful jacket, but the arm holes are really tight around the pits. Anyone else have find this to be a characteristic of this jacket?

            @deek myself and @Inorganic had the iteration prior to this (chest pocket version) and ended up returning for the same issue. Loved the look of it but could not get past the tightness in the pit area. I could be miss remembering but I believe inorganic made out by taking a size up.

              @flannel-slut good memory - I still have the jacket and I wear it regularly in spring, though I can't quite comfortably zip it up due to the pit sitch...so there's that.

                See also one of my earlier reviews regarding the IHJ-79 (cited below) and refer to my posts before that in the same thread if you need more details:

                @cityofdelusion said in IHJ-79-BLK - Primaloft® Gold Quilted Riders Jacket - Black:

                As it stands, the takeaway from my experiences and trials for anyone who might go through the same dilemma as I did whether to get the next size up is: If the armpit and/or the upper arm area is tight, it can be fixed by going for a size up as long as you think you'll be fine with the slightly increased overall length of the jacket and the sleeve length. Sounds obvious, but since those problem areas will only marginally relax with the next size up (which is because of the pattern and design of the jacket), only do this if you really want this jacket and think you'll end up obsessing if you don't have it.

                @flannel-slut And if - as in your case, if I recall correctly - the midsection/opening is too baggy..... drink more beer? No, but in all seriousness, wearing your Primaloft vest could prevent having additional bulk in the armpit area while increasing the bulk needed in the midsection/opening areas. Double Primaloft FTW I guess 🤔

                To add to the above post since it's been a while and give a TL;DR:

                Sizing up and at the same time making sure that the overall length and sleeve length aren't too long compared to your "ideal size" (this can be achieved by asking the IH crew to pick a jacket with specific measurements/dimensions) fixes the problem.

                          @Alex I have never seen this measurement offered elsewhere but in the interest in reducing returns, any thought in adding an armpit measurement to the charts? Maybe laid flat and measured similar to a waist measurement?
                          Shirt measurement in the picture below would have a “pit hole” measurement of 10” (yes, the term pithole needs to be workshopped)

                                  @cityofdelusion Thank you for confirming I'm not the only one that felt the pits were tight. This was a highly sought after jacket for me, and ended up buying one new with tags still on. I guess I'll just have to live with it since there's probably no chance of finding a new one in size Large.
