IH-888S-UHR - 21/23oz Ultra Heavy Raw Selvedge Denim High Rise Tapered Cut Jeans

^ Appreciate that yannis. I have a pair of 1955-UHR jeans but they were always a bit small (34), so I almost never wear then and don't have much memory of their shrink and stretch characteristics. Good to know the 888s-UHR will likely snap back to raw waist and top block measurements with a little pressure.

I had some 888 UHR that were a size too small. I hated wearing them. The high rise in 23 oz raw does not feel good on your belly. And the muffin top is extremely unflattering. I’d say whatever fits you perfectly when theyre raw will stretch back to that after the wash. I do a hot tub soak to prevent marbling which this denim is prone to then a hot wash in the machine. My new UHRs measured perfect, shrunk about an inch, back to perfect after about three days.
They won’t go much further than pre wash though. I used a car jack on my 888s and they never stretched beyond the original measurements. That’s just my personal experience.

Good to know Matt -- it did cross my mind that too small in UHR is not a good thing -- ouch
Also good to know that UHR stretches back to, but not beyond, original measurements. Different for once-washed 21 or 18oz., of course, which will go past original under pressure.

@Oaktavia stacking around the inner seams looks fantastic. Always a pleasure to follow your fading journey
Thanks man, the UHR is rigid and stacks well as it holds its form. I will continue to post my journey here.

@Oaktavia 888 is your cut brother! And those whiskers are wild!
-
@scarfmace thanks buddy and yes I agree, 888 is definitely the cut for me.
-
@Oaktavia looking super goot for such little time, those are in a sweet spot already. Still look krispy as fuuuuk

I wear size 32 in my 555-xhs which have a 16 inch waist. I'm trying to decide if I should order a size 31 (15 inch waist) or 32 (16 inch). I guess some people size down due to the higher rise, but the fact that they're unsanforized and the shrinkage after soaking makes me wonder if it's a bad idea going for size 31?
-
@Graham ok, thanks!

Congrats, I think they're going to be great. A wash will bring them in nicely.
-
@Oaktavia alright fuck it, I'll keep em
soaking them right now and hoping for the best
