Obviously, there are also pros of winter time, such as

      • wearing more heavy IH stuff
      • seasons are a must, then there must be a winter
      • sunny icy days are incredibly beautiful
      • it's ok to cherish a bad mood

      ... now you

@endo the catkins are one of the most obvious signs of the changing seasons near me.

        For the pros of winter:

        • I get to wear my N1

        • And my A2

        • Going out in the evening feels like more of an event

        • Moonlight walks (torches are cheating!)

        • There are probably others but I can’t think of them right now

@flannel-slut McCarthy’s thing is kind of old but at age 42 he picked up a 16 year old at a motel pool. Gaiman has a bunch of credible and extremely creepy accusations of sexual misconduct, exploiting power dynamics to do so.

Then we have stories about Danny Elfman and others to add more wood to my bonfire of misanthropy.

@mclaincausey I think the Gaiman things feels particularly egregious to me because he consistently identified as a supporter of women and feminism. That article detailing the allegations against him was really disturbing.

@SKT yeah exactly, the layer of hypocrisy doesn’t help.

And Ryan Adams had whatever issues he had—I don’t know all the details—but at a minimum he was using his celebrity and connections to promise things to romantic interests, and then threatening to destroy them professionally when they didn’t reciprocate. So, while reprehensible and unacceptable, what I’ve read about him isn’t as bad as sexual assault attached to Gaiman, and he could have rehabilitated himself and his career. His fans seemed by and large to be ready to forgive his Weinstein-isms if he could have just gotten back to doing music. But when he had that opportunity, he went full Morrissey, going batshit crazy on tour and messing it up. The man is deeply unwell.

                          Think it, be it.

You’re right and I should have been more careful to lump Adams in with Gaiman. Not the same level of offenses but in the same orbit…abusing a power dynamic.

And I need to look into his tour/comeback…I didn’t even know he made the attempt.

How many times would I be able to reload for it still to be considered self defense?

@tody forgive the pun, but i feel like this is a 'loaded' question.
I can't help but assume you're referring to a situation in which someone 'eliminates a threat', yet reloads and continues to fire into said threat long after it has expired. That is a heavily situationally-dependent and subjective scenario and would likely come down to the discretion of a jury.
Having said that, it seems that if one were to reload AFTER the threat has expired, then one would most likely be considered to have exceeded a reasonable measure of deadly force. Of course this is also subjective and would depend on the initiating threat level of the one being defended against, which would have to be assumed to also have presented a deadly threat. Of course at that point you could bring up the question: "How dead is too dead?"

Sorry for the brain dump, feel free to tell me to shut it.
