@GardenState if you were to wear it as a fanny pack I'd agree it'd take some confidence, but slung across the front/back I don't think anyone would think it overly ostentatious!
My IH Hickory Shoulder bag has been called a purse/handbag on numerous occasions, but this has drawn no ire so far.
