Hey guys
My first post and love letter to my new Jacket.
I was initially interested in the modified 21 oz type 3 but Ironheart was sold out as well as a local shops that stock them. I found my size in the US but got sidetracked by this version from a Youtube vid. Not only was it more my style but in stock at IH! Ordering was really easy and got an email next day confirming my size from Freeman. He even measured the exact jacket that was getting sent which was so cool!
It got here quick!
I got Large and It fits a lot more snug than the Levies variant in medium I bought and just didn't love. Returned that jacket before ordering. Having said that, I can get a hoody / sweatshirt underneath and still button er up so I'm happy! Sleeve length and overall length is perfect.
One of my shoulders has quite a bit more muscle than the other and because the jacket is more fitted, it stands out more (if I'm looking for it). But that's more of a "me problem" haha. If I ordered an XL I think everything else would look more off.
Ive only had it a bit over a week but wearing this trucker as much as possible! Helps that it's been really mild here. The wife asked me if I plan on wearing to bed
. It started out very stiff and maaaayby it's getting a bit softer, or perhaps I'm just getting used to it.. This jacket is definitely thicker than expected and I dig that! Looks and feels worlds better than that Levi's. Feels like the highest quality denim I have ever bought. It actually is so that tracks. Can only imagine how much heavier the 21oz feels.

So overall I effing loving this jacket! Glad I ordered direct from IH and I'm Definitely a fan now. Sooo I joined the forum!! So hey! -

Before joining this forum I went over to Reddit to create a similar post. Only problem was that Iron Heart means a totally different thing on Reddit and Not at all SFW!!
Glad to find this forum. Really doubt this'll be my last IH purchase. Eyeballing an out of stock olive M65 Field Jacket and maybe some jeans

@Chibs welcome. I think most of us can relate to that first experience of the legendary IH product/customer service combo. It’s all too easy to get used to it!
Also, not a path I’ve taken but a fair few guys on here have been known to sleep in their IH gear. I’m sure they’ll back you up if you ever need to convince your wife that such things are totally normal

Handy, but dangerous. 
Didn't realize this but I'm safe for now. The local store that stocks the M65 only has it in a medium. I'm large so thank the maker!!

Frydays, short walk from IH. Watched the Isle of Wight ferries coming and going. The seagulls keeping a beady eye on the chance of grabbing some leftovers..

Does anyone find the sleeve opening on this jacket to be too limiting? Looks awfully small compared to the shirts I have.
You can open the cuff button if you feel that way. When I wear gloves that's what I do.

Edit: I am on the fence between this one and the 21oz SBG. Part of me says heavyweights are superior but as I am growing with my IH taste I am starting to be drawn to lighter weights too. I like the idea of many creases on the arms for fades. And I am so drawn to indigo/black. I think a fitted look with this one would be so sick. And I would be able to wear it in warmer weather easier too. Any thoughts on this?

I found this wears pretty hot in the sun, especially when new with how dark it is. It also doesn't breathe as well as 21 and thanks to the tighter more dense fabric, it also seems to conduct heat/cold better than 21. Still, it's a great jacket and the thinner/lighter fabric makes it decent to travel with in my experience. Fit, mine seems to be cut slimmer compared to other jackets where I'm normally a large but went with an XL in this.
Really just depends if you want sbg or ib.

@pechelman good points all around. I think I am just more drawn to the indigo/black is what it comes down to. I ordered XL which seems to be a better size for me lately and based on my measurements. Hopefully this one fits well but slim and fitted like a T3 should. I would like to wear CPOs over it and wear the T3 like a shirt. I don't think I would really do that with a 21oz SBG.
@popvulture I went ahead and ordered this one. I totally get why folks on here love the SBG jacket but the more I think about it, the more I just love indigo/black. And I'm after a closer fit too with a T3. My Lefty T3 is so heavy and I sized to be roomy. If I am going to have two denim T3s, I think wearing them differently would make more sense to me. I think I will be happy with either one.
