@T4920 looking awesome and electric. Don't sell yourself short though. Your hickory bag faded super nicely. I can't imagine why this one wouldn't.

@Oaktavia I was actually thinking about this earlier! I think the reason the hickory bag faded so well is because it is unlined with no structural reinforcement, leading the fabric folding and creasing in the same way a pair of jeans or a shirt would.

This one, however, is heavily structured, with an inner lining and whatever is used to create the padded diamonds, so the indigo is only really going to shed with continued abrasion/washes.

I'll still enjoy the process though! Love the bag, and use it daily now. Only use hickory when I need more space.

I 100% love this bag too...I'm holding off from washing it until summer is over. It's getting tons of daily use right now and I still have some fishing trips I pan to use it for. Then once it's time to go back to normal, post summer vacation work life....i'll wash it and shed the build up of grime from travel and mountain abuse.

@T4920 ah gotcha gotcha...maybe the crests of each diamond will shed indigo first? Interesting to think about. I actually have a little tiny bit of turquoise color shedding from my leather one. Near the strap but it's brief.

Today officially marks the end of my summer vacation. Figured I’d enjoy my last day washing a couple pieces that are in need.

The 51 has been used good and hard this summer! Stay tuned for some post wash follow ups…

This thing took a while to dry. Even being outside line drying on a hot day I had to bring it in over night to finish. That thick padding is like a sponge.

The denim is super crispy now. I think it will smooth over and get soft again eventually. Zippers still function nice and smooth.
