SBGs are pretty soft IMO... they definitely don't have that crunch that some of the other dyed weft denims have. The idea of a black warp and white or natural weft is wild to me — I'd really love if IH made something wacky like that again sometime. Although I do completely get why it might be a tough sell. Kinda niche.

@popvulture Levi’s was making 501s like that in the 80s-90s,but even they don’t make them anymore. Haven’t come across anyone else that makes them either.

@Jett129 You're the man thanks!

@Tago-Mago Yo those are awesome! I love how texture they are, like a slate grey! If you work hard enough, you might even get those puppies to full faded white

@neph93 I would have never thought that it would fade to a brown. All these posts are crazy to think of the possible colors and fades by just changing a few things around! I would rock those browns more than my regular chinos

@Jett129 I did find Self Edge has a 22oz Type 3 Overdyed denim jacket. The BSPTIII22OZ. That thing is EXTRA HEAVY chalked up black lol

@popvulture Agreed! SBGs are super soft when you work them in. That's why I had to pause when I read it's black warp and weft. I really thought that maybe it was a white weft at first, hence why they get so soft. That being said a black warp and white weft I feel like could be just straight pajamas with how comfortable they could get lol

@jerkules said in Random questions to which you seek an answer: Thanks @pechelman that’s really appreciated. I like the look too @Giles, but it may inform my colour choice @jerkules you're welcome. I know this is a bit late, but was wearing this shirt today and figured a picture could help your decision.

@pechelman looks rad, I really like the colour you went for! Did you use a standard dye kit like Dylon or something?
-
Thanks @jerkules
 I used RIT dye using the stove top method and the "Petal Pink". Also used the fixer afterwards to prevent it from bleeding or fading too much.Also found the original post; it lightens up a bunch after it gets a wash and dry.

Great color!

Curious, does anyone else rotate/wear/wash their denim based off the current level of “stink” and the activities to ensue? As in, wow, this one is really ripe… *pull out of rotation and add to the sweaty yard work pile and push a few more days of wear before wash.
