He'll really dig the 888s — I think they look really good on him. Fwiw I don't think you necessarily have to have a big butt / thighs to enjoy that cut, and just imo the way the 634s fit him in the seat were an immediate no from me. 634's my cut of choice, but I've had to send it back for a different size way more than any other cut of IH. The top block is weird in that one.

@popvulture totally man. 888 is my favorite cut and I’m a pretty thin dude. Love the room of the top block combined with the tapered slimmed down leg.
I think the key with the 888 is to size down as much as possible to get a slim a thigh as possible. In Matt’s case, he couldn’t have gone any slimmer in the waist so….he likes his chicken tenders and beer!! Haha

I threw the 888s in the wash on cold/ line dry. They tightened up just the slightest amount. About 3/8 in the thigh and almost 1/2 in the length.
Honesty I think we nailed the cut and sizing for Matt’s tastes. He came back by today so we could get the hem length dialed. Taking them to Berkeley for a hem and he will be rocking his first Iron Hearts.
Btw, he is stoked!! He’s been enjoying the process a lot more than I think he thought he would. Haha. He wants to go with me to Berkeley Supply when I take them in for the hem. He says he needs a couple shirts hahah.

Thanks again everyone for the kind words and very helpful advice along the way here. I’ll be sure to keep the thread updated as he makes progress in his Iron Heart 888s…he’s already eyeballing the fades on my jeans like life goals for his own Haha.

@ARNC it’s pretty funny because he and I are so much alike. We tend to end up with alot of the same gear based off something he discovers or vise versa.

@FlavourFade think we gave him a bit of extra length so he can single cuff if he wants. Thought process was, “better to go a little long than a little too short.”
