This is the best of the collection. Glad I got the 389 instead of the 380. This way I can justify this one as I wanted a sashiko work shirt as well. 21oz is kind of mind blowing for a sashiko work shirt. This is gonna be like a judo gi. Can't wait for this one.

@AdamJ In the first photo of this it looks like it has a really deep pocket compared to a normal IH work shirt (comparing to my 307 serge), like 1/2" more depth. Am I seeing this right and if so, is it intentional?

@AdamJ thanks. More I was wondering handfeel as I recalled the current version feeling a bit coarse and slightly airy. This looks much more tightly woven, maybe smoother handfeel? But is it softer? Guessing less breathable too?

The IHSH-397 is more coarse to touch, heavier and more sturdy than the IHSH-380. I have the latter and have been wearing it in the warm-ish conditions lately and it's been fine. The weave on this one feels tighter yes so I would think it's definitely more suited to the cold seasons. Won't be your next summer vacation shirt
