@popvulture Chicago gets so hot in summer. People don’t realize that places like Chicago and even Minneapolis can get very uncomfortably hot and humid. People have died in Chicago summers from the heat because air conditioning is not universal. A surprising fact about a city that can get very cold and snowy.

ATX. Well, great city but condolences on the summer heat!

        Think it, be it.

Early summertime Chicago is one of the best city experiences in the world. Had a buddy who lived in Wrigleyville after college in the early 90’s. Should be illegal to have that much fun.

I guess I haven't been there for the dog days, but every time I went there in the summer (long distance relationship, so quite a few times) it was nothing short of amazing. Also so bikeable due to the flatness.

I was in Chicago a few years ago in June and we had the best time!! Perfect weather. But then I did get reports later in July how miserable it was at that point and we were lucky to have come earlier.

Living in Colorado, we have a very dry climate, which does wonders for the year round enjoyment of each season. Living here, I have to agree with Mclain that I love each season for what each one has to offer. It can get searingly hot down in town in the summer...but that's easily remedied by spending most of my time in the higher elevation of the mountains backpacking and fishing every chance I can get.

All that being said, I still think winter and fall edge out the others for the win! I just love cooler weather.

In the easy chair with my boots on, melted whiskey in my hand. Could'na been asleep for more than three hours...time to go to work again...

I love the cold and hate the heat, in Italy, 15km from the Adriatic Sea and 30km from the Apennine mountain chain, up until 15 years ago the climate was perfect, the 4 seasons were very distinct, the winters not too cold and the summers in the 30s degrees... it was an absolutely enviable climate but now 😔😔😔, the temperature has increased by 5/6 degrees on average and the summers are long and too hot 😔, I truly believe that we have managed to ruin this wonderful planet and now we are paying for it consequences 😔

@long_john86 I have not washed these at all, but I spot clean and remove any stains, dust, dirt etc. with water and spot cleaning and I use a RW boot brush to brush away dirt and whatever else gets on them. I work as a teacher so my jeans cannot look dirty if I wear them 3-4 days a week. Interestingly, my buddy @olblue has a pair of XHS that are nearly as old and his remain dusty as he does not need to appear as clean at work. I posted a photo of us in WAYWT yesterday and we are both wearing them.

@long_john86 yeah I typically do not get a lot of junk on my pants knocks on wood and when I do, I spot clean as soon as I can. I am trying to get to the proverbial 180 days before a machine wash but I'm struggling at day 138....42 to go I guess that doesn't seem like much. I just want to get to day 180 at least one time just to say I have and see if the hype is worth the 6 month wait that some folks swear by. I will say that if you are not diligent with keeping them manually spotless, the filthy feeling of the jeans does not seem worth it to wait this long.
