No, didn’t get any stretch. Pretty think leather. I know they changed the tannery that they were getting their natural veg tan leather from. Wondering what the new leather they are using is going to be like. Deb had sent me some samples of the new tanneries they were trying out. Do you get samples?

Words cannot describe how much I love this jacket. So here’s some photos of up close evo shots to help me express myself.
After the one coat of Mustang Paste this thing REALLY came to life. Richer color and texture. Picks up beautiful patina faster too I’d say.
In the easy chair with my boots on, melted whiskey in my hand. Could'na been asleep for more than three hours...time to go to work again...

@SourPower This natty veg is really fun to put work into. It evos fast and looks incredible as it develops. Would look great over some waders standing in the river!!! haha

We are in prime leather jacket weather right now in Denver. Chilly but not too cold yet. So I’ve been wearing this beauty a lot.
It’s hard to capture the true color with this leather. But this is close (if not a touch darker in the photos)

I believe this is the first run with the new Blattwerk leather?

Description on IH Germany still says "Italian Natural Horsehide 1,3 mm", but not sure what "Blattwerk" refers to (brand or type leather).

As I understand it, the Italian Natural Horsehide (old leather) was extremely inconsistent coming from Italy to Simmons Bilt (a large percentage of hides were not up to Simmons Bilt QC and had to be sent back). After much trial/error, Simmons Bilt and Iron Heart switched to the Blattwerk (new leather), which is more consistent and environmentally conscious.
I’m sure someone else can speak to this with more accuracy and greater depth, though.
