@T4920 she’s 15 years old now. She’s a super home body now at that age so doesn’t make it out on hikes etc very often. People love her when she does make it to the park.

So today I accepted a job offer. After ten years in the same school I’ll be moving on to something new in a higher grade level. I’m very stoked. This calls for a Monday night celebration with the fam…and this diabolical fucker!
One day teachers will be able to afford R8s…or maybe even Lambos…

So the school head seemed to really like what I had to say during our second interview. After I declined, he reached out to me the following day to offer time and another opportunity to talk things through, no holds barred, honest and direct. We really dissected all my concerns and he gave me the insight I needed to understand the position better and the nuance of the role…which I found to be really intriguing and will allow me the creativity to teach on my terms. I left the call feeling really great about the possibilities and after another 24 hours to think on it decided to go for it. Honestly, I couldn’t be more excited about next year’s future at this point.
Now, how can I finesse a pay increase to get me into that R8…

@T4920 it’s so funny you ask that…one of the questions they asked me in the first round was, “what is a non negotiable for you in a teaching role?”
The first thing that popped into my head was, I have to be able to wear my denims!
I was able to phrase it a bit more philosophically and came back with, “Not being myself is a non negotiable. If I can’t be myself then I can’t be the best teacher possible…” while under my breath “double to triple denims all week long!”In the easy chair with my boots on, melted whiskey in my hand.
