I was supposed to be off today, but a contractor friend asked (begged) me to fix someone else’s mistakes on cabinet hardware install. Previous contractor got booted off a job for bs work. The cabinets had so much deep scratches that were covered by some off pigment nail polish. Had to pre-drill (& fill in/fix drilled holes that were in the wrong place & crooked), install shelving & hang several unhung cab doors w/ hardware I had to source bc it was taken from the site, & align cab doors (prev. Contractors said it wasn’t possible for the cab doors to be straight bc her walls were crooked & they get delivered already aligned 🙄 (wtf they have adjustments) , & actually cleaned up before leaving so she can fill her new kitchen with pans and utensils. On a side note, had to taking my work home as I needed to cut back majority of the machine screws to fit the handles (didn’t have my tools w/me) some were even installed too long so very loose & odd spacing with the handle & cabinetry 😫. Idk but it was an absolute joke & nightmare. The client was horrible to me in the beginning, but after seeing me fix a few of her worries early on, was thrilled with my work and was nice afterwards. She was basically breathing down my neck for the first 2 hrs, but I don’t blame her. F the previous contractors. After a few short hrs correcting things she was thrilled at the end results even before her kitchen was completed.

Not cool, esp. since this is the 3rd home dealing with a mean ass client. F those contractors who ruin it for those who know what theyre doing, & for the clients - lesson learned. Don’t ever settle for the cheap assholes who are going to steal your money! & most certainly don’t judge someone cuz they look 12!

Dang, @RoxRocks86. Sounds like you had your work cut out for you on this one! I hope that the client was properly grateful when she realized you got the job done right.

Been working at a house built in the 30’s. Helping a carpenter repair & prep windows and wall panels with peeling paint, wood rot, termite & water damage. At least the view ain’t too bad…

                      Edit- wearing IHT’s in both & 777-18oz

We have a property with a low ass crawl space and that’s where the furnace lives. Belly crawl about 25 yards to the opposite end of the footprint to swap the filter. Yup…

The last week we've been working on these Lodge Cottages in West Sussex. The roof has ornamental patterned tiles on the roof so we are remmoving all moss then applying a special treatment to restore the tiles to their original colour. Wearing my 777 invitational pair.
