@T4920 well this answered the question of where you’re next holiday will take place!! Any chance of crossing the border into Myanmar? I was there several years back and it was one of, if not thee most incredible places I’ve ever been. Thailand is damn incredible too, however!!

@Mizmazzle I was in SE Asia backpacking for almost a year in 2016/17, but Myanmar was one of the only countries in the area I never went across into ... I regret it now, as (I think?) you cannot cross the border as a tourist due to certain happenings within the country in recent years ...

I always wanted to do the hot air balloon ride across the temples of Bagan, maybe someday!

For now though I'm very content in Thailand, the north of the country is my favourite place in the world, and I try and come here once a year (life permitting)

I feel grateful to have caught the open window into Myanmar. When I was there they had only opened to tourists the year or two before. I knew things had gotten bad again with the genocide but didn’t realize they had closed down the borders again.
