@endo I started watching this morning, can't wait for more! So tense and unnerving but I hear it gets REAL wild...

Chernobyl has been on my list forever and I finally got around to starting it. 2 episodes in and it excellent. Obviously nothing feel good here but the director’s ability to capture the tension and horror of the event is superb. Amazing performances too.

Anyone especially @jordanscollected watching The Bear on Hulu. Finished season one and thought it was one of the best seasons of TV I’d ever seen. Currently watching Season 2.

It’s been getting a lot of props from restaurant people for authenticity. I had to Google a glossary for the first season.

@Jett129 in the beginning I was somehow surprised by the dynamics and emotions in the kitchen but then I realised that maybe it is very often like this in reality…Good show!

I have almost finished Fargo Season 4, and I'm really impressed. I'm a big Coen fan since Barton Fink and very much liked seasons 1 and 2, but 3 not at all. For those who don't know, this series is not filmed by the Coen brothers (just producers) but - I guess you can say in their style. Here in Fargo S4 it's a great cast (Jessie Buckley, Ben Whishaw, Chris Rock, Jason Schwartzman, and to me before unknown Salvatore Esposito, Kelsey Asbille and (excellent) Timothy Olyphant and E'myri Crutchfield), good story line, but most of all IMO a very beautiful scenery (1950s in Missouri) and filming. Quite slow, very Coen-esque. In case you like shit like that ...

Mrs H and I just finished s2 of Sweet Tooth on Netflix. It's enjoyable enough, but lacks something compared to the comics (don't they always...). Some instances of characters making dumb-ass decisions just for the sake of introducing unnecessary conflict into the story. And they did that thing that adaptations sometimes do (looking particularly at you, s2 of The Walking Dead) where to save set and location costs they stretch what was a single issue of the comics into almost an entire season of the show. 6/10, but interested enough to see how they end it with the supposed final season coming next year.

Also, tried s3 of The Witcher. Couldn't make it through the first episode. I read the books a couple of years ago, but even I can't follow what's going on anymore. The books are a hard read, with untrustworthy narrators and sometimes false exposition depending on the point of view of the character in the scene, but the TV show seems to have become completely divorced even from the plot of the books. Even Henry Cavil's stonking good looks couldn't stop Mrs H from looking over at me and saying "I'm not enjoying this anymore" 20 minutes into the episode, and we gave up.

In case anyone missed it, check out Invincible on Amazon Prime. Season 2 is coming later this year. It's a cartoon super-hero show based on another Robert Kirkman (The Walking Dead) comic. You'll spot the 18 rating (here in the UK) and wonder "what's this an 18 for? This is just the same old 'teenage kid gets superpowers and learns to use them' story I've seen 100x before" as you watch the first episode. Then you'll get to the last 2 minutes of the first episode and you'll understand . The story has been adapted slightly from the comics - some story events take place in a different order - but it's done in a way that makes sense for TV. I think we'll give it a re-watch before season 2 drops.

                          Take the dive...

Agreed. Watched a few episodes of Sweet Tooth but was never drawn back to it. Quit due to lack of interest.

Tried to start watching last season of Witcher but couldn’t remember anything or anyone. Too much going on there.

Invincible was amazing. My wife hated it because it was so damn graphic. what a show. Sweet tooth season 1 was decent, but i couldn't get past episode 1 of season 2. they spent like 3 minutes repeating "im exhausted I need rest!!!" "No, you need to continue to research!!!" and i turned it off.

We're watching Drops of God right now about a woman who inherits her late fathers extensive wine collection, but to get it she needs to face off with his protege student in a blind taste off. weird premise, good acting and storyarc so far

Second season of Wheel of Time dropping soon. Big fan of the book series as well (though Robert Jordan did go word vomit towards the last few books). Anyone on the fence otta give season 2 an opportunity. Season 1, much like book 1, isn’t anything special but book 2 is an all time fantasy read.

@Nik love The Bear. Watched both seasons and then rewatched Season 1,as so much happens so quickly, there’s stuff that I missed that kind of ties in to Season 2,which focuses more on the individual characters. John Mulaney and Jamie Lee Curtis were fantastic.

                                            the last few books

You mean the ones that were written by Brandon Sanderson after Jordan passed, or the last few written by Jordan himself? Because I'd agree with you on Sanderson's writing, but I still felt he managed to stick the landing.

Again the books are better than the show in this instance. The show has made some weird tweaks which are clearly aimed at appealing to modern sensibilities around gender, like how Morainne doesn't know which of the kids is the Dragon Reborn and how the ladies are now also Ta'veren, but which in my opinion were unecessary (I thought the ladies were bad-asses in their own right, and my favourite characters in the books was Nynaeve and Egwene). It will be interesting to see how they handle all the stuff with the damane, given how jumpy everyone gets around the subject of slavery these days.
