-
@Giles wonderfull G! Enjoy and wish you and Paula save travels
looking forward to more photo’s and some big fishes you’ll catch
-
Does the boat come with the hot model on the stern? Looking good @Madame-Buttonfly
-
@Giles forgive me if this has been mentioned or is a really really dumb question... Does Sakura have any "self driving" features? Can you be in a calm open ocean with nothing and no one around and set a destination/direction and you and Paula just relax in that amazing living room?
-
100%, we can set her to auto, have a few drinks and party down the back.....
But rule 5 of Colregs says:
Look-out
. Every vessel shall at all times maintain a proper look-out by sight and hearing as well as by all available means
appropriate in the prevailing circumstances and conditions so as to make a full appraisal of the situation and of the risk
of collision. So if we hit anything or anyone, whilst not obeying Rule 5, we'd we royally fucked.....
-
From experience, French fishermen assume they have right of way. I remember having to change course in the Bay of Biscay because a line of boats trawling nets were on a collision course...
Sakura is looking good, and I see that @Madame-Buttonfly has made herself comfortable already.
Never mind the Orcas, it's these that you have to worry about!
-
@Giles Kind of like riding a horse with your eyes closed.
-
@Madame-Buttonfly looks great in the photo. Almost like she's been there forever. Great photos @Giles .
-
weather's looking good, bar's fully stock. ahoy it's full steam ahead
-
@Giles
Safe travellooks like you have nice weather for your first part of the trip !
Full steam ahead Cpt Giles️

Have a safe journey @Giles and @Madame-Buttonfly. AIS switched on?
-
Because of the bloody shenanigans with Menorcan customs we are having to go “dark” until we clear customs in Majorca. Once we have done that we will programme our AIS, once we have done that we will be trackable on various vessel tracking websites. I’ll let you know when we have done that…
-
Enjoy @Giles and @Madame-Buttonfly looks like lovely weather! Safe travels and I look forward to seeing the updates

@Giles said in Giles and Paula's Great Retirement Adventure:
We have been assigned a Call Sign and MMSI*
Call Sign: MNKT8
MMSI: 232046961- Maritime Mobile Service Identities (MMSIs) are nine-digit numbers used by maritime digital selective calling (DSC), automatic identification systems (AIS) and certain other equipment to uniquely identify a ship or a coast radio station.
@Twistlock Is this what you are looking for?
