I can see that. The size based proportions of a boot shaft won’t track with the changes in hem width. I guess which kind of Engineer you wear will make a difference. I feel like I can get away with a slimmer calf and hem over Engineers with a slimmer last or tapered toe like Wesco’s MP. But a true boss toe requires a wider legged jean. That is a personal thing though.

There isn’t much stretch in whipcord but you may find that once they settle it improves. Good to hear they’re useful though. Lovely pants.

Well, there’s not really any charts for the duck ones that I can find, but I have navy 816 in a size 36 that have at least a 14inch thigh.

Also, the front/back rise differential was greater, imo
