@SKT it's likeky pre-mature to make the call but I think this one might end up being my summer soundtrack for '23

@GraemeE LOVE Nascimento — that album's gotten a ton of play at my house. Similar vibes, also burned this one up quite a bit over the past several years:

@Matt its much more in line with traditional ballet scores than I would expect from one of the bigger edm heavyweights of the last 20-30 years but I was a band/orchestra nerd throughout all my years in school so I have a soft spot for it

Thanks @GraemeE I hadn’t come across this but I like it. It’s cool that a lot of musicians/composers feel comfortable working with different musical traditions. If you haven’t heard it, this album is worth a listen - the program brings out the connections between the baroque repertoire at the beginning and David Chalmin’s superficially very different style. https://open.spotify.com/album/6d1pAwsXIjAnUXckvPXKfC?si=KmMtE0y_TbmUNUf3Kzuviw

@Aetas That was quite a surprise to me. I never realised Status Quo made music in that style. I used to see them performing on TV regularly in the 1980s and was never a fan of their musical style at that time.

That unusual guitar riff has been in my head all day, but in a good way. Thanks for the education.
