@setandsetting any Acid Mothers Temple in your stash?

I don't own any of their records but I used to see them every year pre-pandemic when they'd tour the US. But it doesn't seem like they've been around since 2019.

@steelydan a have an early reissue as well. I think it’s a a year or two after the original release year. It’s sounds kinda flat. Not a lot of dynamics. Of course, the music itself doesn’t have a ton of dynamics as it is. Kinda garage glam rock ya know. But that’s what makes it so damn good!!

I haven't pulled the trigger yet but this is really intriguing. I can't get any of the previews to play.

            https://lightintheattic.net/releases/9499-untitled-white-album

In 1974, Hiroshi Tanaka and Yoichi Fuwa, the self-proclaimed heirs of the Beatles, crammed into a 75 square foot room and recorded over 50 songs, all without names. 19 of those songs would be self released on a record titled “Untitled White Album”, of which only 100 copies were pressed.

Their music is like a fairy tale. It’s leisurely and relaxed yet bursting at the seams with melodies and youthful ambition. Its whole attitude is gentle but splendid in evoking tears, anger, sentimentality, infatuation, intoxication, and a bit of craziness. Tanaka and Fuwa’s music has the power to bring that emotion to life.

This holy grail of Japanese psychedelic pop has been searched for by collectors the world over. Now, after almost 50 years, First & Last Records is proud to release the official reissue of this masterpiece. In addition to the 19 original songs is a second LP featuring 16 tracks that heretofore were unknown, released for the first time.

For folks who have been enjoying Kikagaku Moyo, I recommend checking out Ryley Walker (with whom they did a live release that's really sick). But Ryley has a great little live thing out today: https://ryleywalker.bandcamp.com/album/live-in-madison-wi-09-28-2022

And this is the KM/Ryley thing: https://kikagakumoyoggb.bandcamp.com/album/deep-fried-grandeur

And of course everyone should check out the Swedish psych legends Trad, Gras och Stenar, who KM covered on (IIRC) Mammatus Clouds: https://tradgrasochstenar.bandcamp.com/album/tr-d-gr-s-och-stenar

Also I'm psyched to check out this White Album. Stuff like this is right up my alley.

I think I've brought these guys up on here in maybe the main music thread a while back, but did any of y'all ever get into Happy End? They were one of Haruomi Hosono's earliest bands (I think preceded just by Apryl Fool). Some people (Julian Cope, probably most notably) dismiss them as sort of being like the Japanese Badfinger, but hey — I like Badfinger, too. Whatever the case, I think they rule. Tracking some of these down on vinyl was a big quest for me a while back.

These 2 albums are the anomalies - for example he does a fairly straight forward cover of Something Big by B Bacharach

My wife and I went to see Wilco a couple weekends ago at The Capitol Theatre in Port Chester, which is a famous Dead venue and is a wonderful place to see music. We've seen Neil and Dylan and Hot Tuna there as well. Actually listening to Being There on CD right now. I love CDs. They're cheap as hell, no one wants them, and I don't subscribe to any streaming services.
