On 7th May we go and pick SAKURA up. We will be commissioning her and then sailing her back to The UK from Menorca. That will be a total of 4-5 weeks.... The soft furnishings are a beautiful Mediterranean off-white, @Madame-Buttonfly has forbidden me to sit on them in anything indigo. I am completely fucked.....I have even thought about getting one of the directors reupholstered in a dark fabric.......

I just do what I do. I live my life and wear the jeans. Nothing more :man-shrugging:
I did wash them a little earlier than I normally would for the first wash (30C and 400rpm spin), but they had picked up some nastiness in Madagascar....So did most of us

@Giles nicely put and just goes to show that early washes do not disrupt early fades. Pretty cool your pair has already spent some time in Madagascar. Hope you got to see some of the rare wildlife during your trip (how could you not?)

I did see the most squalid poverty I have ever seen (and I have been to a lot of bad places), it would have been pretty depressing but for the fact that I did not see a single child without the broadest grin on their face - even if they were digging through stinking refuse heaps with only a stick to help them....

Interestingly enough, I decided that with the 18oz vintage that I would wash them a lot (a LOT more than I normally do, even when I did not think they actually needed it), and the results were lovely

@Giles That's a truly vintage approach in every way then, as folks 'back-in-the-day' cared not for high contrast fades and just washed their clothes plenty. I was told several times when I was first getting into raw denim that washing often is essentially a mistake--certainly not the case here. Safe travels and look forward to more of your and Adam's fades on these as I just picked up a pair of this denim.

@Giles oh wow, that would be hard for me to see, but then again, I've never left the states.
I just checked out the 18oz 666 thread to see what you were referring to. I really dig the way your pair turned out and it's cool to hear they were washed a lot. They are vintage fades with contrast at the same time- a killer combo.
