Hard to be a chef working from home but I’m managing. The birds have returned to the feeders out back. My wife works from home too so we have to share the house during the day.

Sous vide corned beef helps pass the time. (48 hours at 148 degrees) finished on a scorching hot grill. Braised cabbage and roasted potatoes. Can’t forget the horseradish.

Been doing a lot of sitting around! Marcia got a bee in her bonnet to play Tetris with the livingroom furniture today, so everything is getting rearranged around me and the dogs. We are both using PTO and sick leave while our jobs figure out if we are going to be able to work from home. Both of us work in jobs with a ton of exposure to the public, though, so we told our bosses that we are staying home where we all should be right now, and just hoping for the best that they see fit to keep us. Creates a lot of uncertainty. Silver lining is I’m not a server or a bartender anymore. I am so scared for the future of that industry I love so much.

I had the Covid-19 talk with my boy this morning and even though it bums him out I had to stress to him the importance of social distancing but also that things will be ok. He understands that this is a change that effects everyone but that everyone has to do their part to not get sick or spread their sickness. Ironically, he developed a mild cough a couple days ago which reinforces my point to him about washing our hands and covering our mouths when we cough. The sad part is that because Covid-19 is so contagious I have no idea if he’s infected or if he simply has a mild case of the flu [emoji40]

                    Got some company today,

With the announcement of the schools closing and the online learning going live on the schools portal last night, we thought we would take advantage of me being home today and tomorrow to get the homeschooling started as Mum and I may not be able to be here all the time so wanted to get the support and routine started.

Dylan had his pick of my wardrobe and has gone for the IHSH-62-WHT, might need to put it on a hot wash but sizing looks pretty good to me!

I asked my local coffee shop if they would give me a temporary tenancy agreement so that I could claim it as a residential premises if I self isolate… They're checking the legality  😃

In my profession, there is no work from home. So, my daily routine is about the same. I'm currently working in one of the local hospitals. We are renovating the 5th floor. We are screened, each morning, when we arrive. As far as isolation goes, I do spend quite a bit of time 10 to 12 feet up on a scissors lift. It's like your own little island….

Been at home all week as the youngest had a fever, probs not C-19 as she also had a very chesty cough. However school asked to her to be off, and then for the whole family to isolate for 14 days.

Like many of you, we are now now waiting for our employers to catch up….although the wife's are more used to homeworking, Remote access in terms of IT from my employer is overwhelmed.

Trying to adapt as now the schools are shut looks like the family will all be at home for months...

For us, yes, they are just organising things, so far it sounds like it would amount to some tasks which are an hour or so per day (I am guessing at this stage) and some to be done once a week… Certainly not a full ciriculum, and well, If both parents are working then tbh fitting it all in including meals, shopping etc is going to be a challenge anyway.

Yes. Maxi is 14, schools in Austria are closed since Monday. He has digital teaching and e-learning daily and has an online study-group with ONE of the girls of his form  ??? 😃
