I LOVE the 18oz vintage and these look just as great.

Guessing everything was pretty much done the same except this is just lighter than the 18oz? Expect same amount of stretch with these as the 18oz?

Any chance Self Edge is grabbing this 16oz vintage?

One thing I love in this denim, that I'm also seeing in my 18oz version, is the horizontal slub wear patterns (at least I think that's what I'm seeing) as per the ridges on the back pocket shot above. I know this is a big (and perhaps sacrilegious) statement, but this may be my favorite Haraki denim yet in the early going: strength and loads of character.

            Think it, be it.

Totally agree.  They seem to start forming pretty quickly too.

I took advantage of the late summer sale and scored a pair of these to replace my 666S-18 Vintage that I had shrunk out of. These fit much better, they also seem somewhat less “crunchy” than my 18oz did when they were new. Either that or I just got used to it lol.

While obviously extremely similar to the 18oz version, this denim is very different in one aspect — it breaks in and softens up MUCH more quickly. I’ve probably got five or six full days in them at most, and they are almost luxuriously soft and comfortable already. Loving the 16oz already.

I'm looking now into a lighter weight.  Being a newbie i would very much welcome some help.  I couldn't be happier–-I'm alternating between 21oz and 25oz, and waiting for a restock of 666-25oz in my size. Let's me be honest too, I'm just hooked.

The previous comment in this thread suggests these 16oz break in softer and sooner than the 18oz and that has helped me narrow the choice now between these 16oz Vintage and the new 14oz 666-142.  Could anyone offer some input and comparison?  I'm now looking for a true hot weather denim.

I wish I could help, but I don’t have the 142 denim. I did have the original 14oz denim, although by the time I got the 16oz I had already sold my 14oz so I never got to do a direct comparison. I can tell you that the 14oz (at least the original version) was a much smoother and more uniform denim whereas the 16oz has more character. The 16oz maybe breathes ever so slightly better but it’s really close. The indigo on the 14oz is darker than the 16oz. You won’t go wrong with either, I do know that much.

@Alex had a pair of the 16oz, sold to someone recently I believe, he should be able to offer some insight.  But the new 14oz is still a fairly unknown quantity - @Appfaff had the sample pair, so will know best how that denim behaves.  You could also consider the 18oz vintage, I love mine.

I think the 16oz is more breathable than the 14ozOD (original) if that helps?

I'd agree with the previous comments, the 666 16oz vintage breathes better than the old 777 14oz - but as the denim fades the 16oz vintage has a bit more character. For now the 16oz is the favourite in my collection.
