How Does Unread Posts Work?
-
Many forum users like to jump straight in to the latest posts/unread topics when arriving at the forum.
To do this, click 'Unread Topics' in the top navigation bar, next to 'Home'.
This will take you to all your unread topics since you were last online. The layout of this differs slightly from what you may be familiar with on the previous forum.
On the far left will be an avatar next to the post title, this will be the post author (who made the thread originally). You will then see a few metrics to the right. On the end of the topic panel there will be a timestamp along with the latest poster. If you click anywhere in the grey area, that will take you to that post.
In addition, if you want to highlight a select few threads from your UNREAD and immediately clear them, you can do so by hovering over the avatar of the post author (far left) and clicking on it. This will select the post, which you can then 'Mark as Read', clearing them from view and leaving you with the posts you want to read.
Equally, if there is an active forum topic you know you're not interested in, you can 'Ignore Topic' so it doesn't show up in your Unread Topic listing in the future.

Hopefully this is a reasonably appropriate thread to post my ‘problem’…
I recently started browsing this forum again, after several years off.
Annoying thing is, that while scrolling through thread posts on my iPad, sometimes it suddenly jumps through a fuckload of posts and settles in some seemingly random spot. It happens even when i am attempting to scroll quite slowly from post to post.
What am I doing wrong? I don’t get this problem scrolling throigh anyother kind of online material, so it is something particular to this forum.

@RocknRoll you can change the scroll settings to view the forum in pages, as opposed to an infinite scroll. Check your settings, and I can look later when I’m at my computer if you still need help.

@RocknRoll Just curious, but if this in new threads or old? When I open an "old" thread which I've already viewed before it takes me to the last post where I currently left off, meaning I can just scroll and see all the new ones I missed
Not sure but hopefully seawolf helped you!

@seawolf Thanks for the tip!

Pagination is way better than infinite scrolling for our forum due to how many photos we all post. Also, @RocknRoll your read settings may not have carried over with you, so you may have been combatting 'reading' stuff you'd already read as well as the infinite scroll demons too.
